@@TheMrMobile I've had the privilege of being briefed by Apple on the Watch Series 5, and Apple seems not to like the homescreen layout either; all the demo models had been set to the list view (I've seen more people in other countries than mine claiming the same thing, so it's seems very deliberate). So I've got good hope it will be the default on the Watch very soon.

What I do with my Series 5 1. I put the watch to charge while I get ready for bed (30mins or so). 2. Put the watch on for sleep tracking and to feel the nudging when my alarm goes off. 3. I put it to charge(if needed) while I shower and get ready for my day. This is a routine I have been doing and I never have to worry about my watch dying in the middle of the day 🔥🤗 plus the watch charges pretty fast!

I’m loving my S5. Huge upgrade from my S0. Didn’t expect it to perform so well but it does and I easily get through the day with always on with around 60-70% left at the end of the day

I completely understand your critique of the battery life, but it takes 30 min to charge up. Just sleep track with it, and then put it on the charging puck when you do your morning routine. It’s really really not that problematic.

Look: Samsung Galaxy Watches can do everything the Apple Watch can, but the only problem with that is that there aren't many apps to download. But the thing is: I really just wouldn't want to use that many apps on my smartwatch. The only things I would do on my watch is messaging, calling, reading notifications, remote controlling smart devices and using the calculator, timer and stopwatch. Oh and, of course the health features. And Samsung Galaxy Watches do all of this very great. I don't need any other apps than this. And the Galaxy Watches are also really smooth like Apple Watches and UNLIKE Wear OS watches. And because in my opinion Galaxy phones are better than iPhones, I never would want to switch to an AW.

Can‘t confirm your claims on the battery. I can use my Watch for 2 full days with 1 night sleep tracking and a 30 minutes to 1 hour running workout each day. No problem.

Of course I wouldn’t complain when Apple could extend battery life. I can see the watch not lasting as long when you have a lot of notifications turned on, high screen brightness and generally use it a lot.

We should always demand more for our money but honestly I wear my series 5 all day about 18 hours put it On the charger for less than a cpl hours and before bedtime it’s fully charged it’s not inconvenient at all

I like the Galaxy Active 2 from Samsung. I recommend that one for you since you’re already familiar with the Samsung platform. However, if you’re looking for something different, unfortunately, I can only recommend Apple Watch and I’d start with Series 4, at the least (due to 1-price 2-features-only would miss out on Always on Display and Intl emergency call). The catch with the Apple Watch is you must have an iPhone! I’m not familiar with any other Android smart watch although for a while I was interested in the latest Fitbit smart watch.

My favorite watch of all time is the TAG Heuer Monaco because it doesn't look traditional, and the square face also gives you more surface area (something very desirable on a touch screen). I just wish there was something similar to a Monaco face on the Apple Watch (and if there is one, can you post it below?).

I just got a Garmin Fenix 6 and imho, it blows the apple watch out of the water. But I value a full week of battery life with constant HR monitoring on, higher than pretty much anything else. The Fenix 6 also does heart rhythm, btw.

I just bought this watch after having FitBit for a number of years so getting used to it. My delay was the lack of a native sleep tracker but since they have a few apps, made the leap. My iconic was getting to a point of needing to be replaced. My tip for folks is to charge your watch in the morning when you are getting ready for work. So far this has worked for me. BTW great review.

I currently use a gen 3 Apple Watch, and my main problem with it is that it doesn’t really do anything. There are so many cool, free apps on Android Wear, and relatively nothing to do on AW. It is basically a really expensive Fitbit. I think the main problem is how Apple charges to be a developer. I’ve contacted a few developers that made versions of their apps for Android Wear, and they say it just isn’t worth the money for a free app on Apple. There are so many awesome games and utilities that I miss using from Android, especially AnkiWear, which lets you use Anki on the watch. It really sucks that it isn’t available on Apple Watch, especially when Anki is free on Android and costs $25.99 on iOS.

If you have the cellular version you can make and receive calls without your phone, as for the notifications I think you don’t need cellular for that so it should work without your phone as long as your phone as a internet connection I Assume :)

I love the fact that the watch is waterproof, can call emergency services, has a cardiogram, and especially the fact that it uses apple pay. my only complaints for the series five is that it only lasts 9 hours just for a two minute charge. It's also pricey., and it remains on when not in use. Another fact about how you should charge it as well as the cable required to charge it. If you lost, broke or damaged your adapter, then boom, it is done for unless you want to buy one more adapter or if you have Apple Care.
