Well put. I think Smart watch makers know that just about nobody week by them. They're pretty much made for reviewers as advertising. Probably why they cost so much, to keep a massive profit margin on the handful they sell

I'm not a big fan of Apple as a company, I think their devices are good, just not worth the price, but credit where credit is due, that taptic engine you mentioned is actually very under appreciated. I know it's just a vibration, and it doesn't make the device speedier in any way or better at multitasking, but the sensation it gives feels very nice indeed ^^

Probably the best review I've seen so far. I've been using my series 2 for 5 days (my first smart watch) and I gotta say it's pretty awesome! I haven't seen the "stand up and stretch" notification once though. What was that sleep app you used? I have Sleep Cycle Alarm Clock on my phone but there's no Apple Watch companion for it.

Stan C. The one he shows at 4:25 has heart rate as one of the metrics. Is that throughout the night or just in the morning? Sleep cycle alarm clock checks your pulse in the morning but it'd be interesting to see how your heart rate changed throughout the night.

TheJaisah For overnight use, I use Sleep++ and wear them on my wrist to sleep. But seeing of the heart rate is best seen on the Health app.

I recently got the series 1 for a sweet deal and honestly it's really good for my uses the screen is plenty bright enough and I don't plan on swimming with it anyway The GPS could be a deciding factor for you but in any other case the series 1 is just as fast and with the same great software and battery life

Michael, If you were to recommend a smartwatch to work with iPhone, but not iWatch, what would you recommend ? Thinking about late Christmas gift for my wife. She has 6s, iPad Air and using iMac at work ... so choice should be obvious, however there is a problem with series 2 availability, at least in UK. I am opened for suggestions. It has to be smartwatch with some fitness features, not the other way round, so all fitbits and garmins are not considered. Appreciate your help and happy NY !

I purchased my G shock in August 2015 and it still has "high" battery. Walking a little in sunshine just charges it. Jawbone has 9 days of battery.
