Today I am going to show you how to change the screen on the Apple Watch Series 5. This is for the 44MM version, but will work for the 40MM.

The se 1st gen 44mm doesnt seem to have a force touch sensor, just some rubber along the edges. Is this the case with this one as well? I didnt see you connnect any flex cable from the sensor.

I replaced the screen and digitizer (bought together) and when I connect it, the screen doesn't come on (like you experienced) but I charged it with no success. I can feel the watch vibrate, so I know it's on. I initially tried to remove the screen only and when I did that, I saw my screen glitch and never come back on. I took the risk and purchased the digitizer assuming I broke it, but that's not working either. Any recommendations?

Unplug the battery and plug it back in. Sometimes you need to put it on the charger right after doing that too. They're weird

The fact that a person needs to be patient with everything and so tbh I think that a beginner would have to spend a whole day of patience. I just ordered all the parts I need and I’m going to spend a day calmly and try to be carful with everything. BTW , the water resistance won’t work anymore after fix?

Water resistance won’t work anymore after you open it unless you add the glue then it should be back to normal

I see a variety of price points for the screen/digitizer what did you pay and has it been reliable? unbranded digitizer ranges from 25 bucks to 55 but oem apple is like 200-240 just for the screen! what do you recommend or what level screen did you use? I have done digitizer replacements for ipads and iphones but have also had 2 bad digitizers off ebay so far. one seller sent a 2nd replacement for the ipad 7th gen and it fixed the issue. so basically it’s hit or miss with unbranded ebay sellers too. please share what you paid and how has it been? thanks!

I notice that you know a lot about apple watches. Is it possible to change the broken screen of a series 5 44mm with a series 4 44mm? Just wondering, because I broke my series 5 glass and I still have my series 4 old watch

@@ShareOviedo the process involved to change the screen (digitizer) is a bit complex and needs to be left to capable hands. There are folks on eBay that do the service because they have the equipment to do it. It’s much more complex than replacing a screen on an iPhone. Miami Fl had a decent priced company doing them via eBay where you pay for the service and the new digitizer then mail the watch to them and they ship it back when completed. The glass is melded to the digitizer so it’s not something to play around with if you don’t have the equipment.* forgot to add- no the screen is not the same on both models, same size but different connections and apple does that on purpose so that you have to buy a new Apple Watch or pay large fees to fix them. You probably don’t care much about this but I am a huge supporter of Louis Rossman on KZbin and his plight against apple and other companies where he’s trying to get ‘right to repair’ laws passed. Apple has too much control and prevents ppl from fixing THE THINGS THEY BOUGHT AND OWN! Check it out sometime and spread the word because it ranges from your apple device to you choosing where to get your car serviced and repaired. Manufacturers today are trying to force ppl to use them to do it at outrageous costs. It’s not right! Good luck.

No you cannot. Only the S0 and S1, then the S5 and SE are interchangeable

How about the apple pay after the repair? Does it work again? you didn’t take off the nfc chip to replace on the new screen. For some reasons the repairs that we do the Apple Pay doesn’t work

Never had a complaint about it (though I’ve heard of this happening). Either very few people pay that way or it works when I do them.

I called a couple places that fix watches and one guy told me that he doesn’t repair anything past the series 2. I asked why and he said when you replace the screens you need to reprogram the NFC chip and only Apple can do that. That doesn’t make sense to me. How true is this? By the looks of your video it’s just a simple screen replacement.

Who ever told you that is wrong the chip is only for Apple Pay it doesn’t matter unless you replace the entire screen then yes it needs to be programmed but 90% of the time it’s just a broken glass which can be fixed with a 30$ repair kid on Amazon but people go extra and spend 250$ on a new screen for no reason at all.

it's $199 for apple to replace the whole watch for you vs $230 to replace it yourself with the one he linked. I would rather go to Apple to get it replaced with a new one lol
