I was a huge fitbit fan. Unfortunately, there are a few things people should consider before purchasing it. I owned the fitbit charge 2, and I went through three replacements. I bought one and the glue that held the fitbit together melted. FItbit was nice enough to send me a replacement but the replacement had battery problems. They sent another replacement and it worked for three months until the battery gave out. I gave fitbit another try and bought the fitbit Ionic. It was amazing however, the battery was damaged after one year. I contacted fitbit and they said it was beyond the warranty. My wife also had an ionic and the battery was an issue. we have done research and it appears it is a common issue. I am not trying to sway your opinion but you should do your research before buying. GREAT Video. I'm leaning toward apple watch 5.

I had the Fitbit Alta HR for maybe 2 years and recently switched to the S5 Apple Watch. I really love it! I like that it tracks movement in general where the Alta really only tracks steps and workouts. The Apple Watch keeps track of how many flights of stairs I take, whether they’re split or one straight flight, where the Alta only noticed straight up and down flights of stairs. I do miss sleep tracking and multi-day battery but I also don’t mind detaching from technology while I’m sleeping and when the AOD is off I can get about 2 days from the watch. It was definitely an upgrade for me.

Made one really bad point. Fitness trackers are made for fitness tracking and smartwatches are not specifically designed for fitness tracking at all but it’s an added perk to many of them, including Apple Watch. Health features are more of a perk on Apple Watch over fitness tracking as a whole. Having the heart rate through the day, dB Meter, ECG, Air Quality, etc is all health based but not fitness based. Fitness trackers have a history of much longer battery life but also a lot fewer features and they key in on fitness solely. Usually no or few third party apps, limited connection to notifications, lower quality displays, etc. Most people wanting fitness trackers go for Garmin, Fitbit, Polar, etc. Apple Watch users primarily want them for the tech features, calls, texts, complications, etc. There is some crossover but most runners and fitness focused people will stay away from Apple Watch. Smartwatches definitely are not primarily fitness trackers so it’s really out of line to make that a primary focus in comparison because that’s really the only comparison to justify the video solely. Just because they both go on the wrist and tell time doesn’t mean they are the same category at all. It’s like trying to say Sunglasses and Google Glass are the same thing and need compared or comparing fútbol and American football just because they share a similar name.

Ya, I like the apple, but not even a days worth of battery!! (I'm a droid guy, was watching for wife). My Samsung only gives me a day as well, but it is 3 years old. I bought the Fitbit versa-2 for her, but didn't realise it wouldn't pair as well with her apple phone, for texts and such. That stinks. But still, I think she'd rather have 4 days than maybe one. No good when it's dead, that's how my Samsung is lol. It works well for a night, if it's blue toothed to my phone.

First time I was making a decision between Versa and Apple watch - i chose Versa - because battery life and i wanted an activity tracker... I did love my Versa, but the battery never lasted 5 days. I think i got like 3.5 days first 3 months, and then i was getting 1.5 day, and after 6 months 1 day, and then it wouldnt last whole day, and after 1 year and 3 months it simply died! After i took of charger, it was hot, and wouldnt turn on! Thank Good i had extended warranty. Of course, Versa was unrepairable, and i got my 249.00 back! Apple Watch 5 came out few days later and i got it! I loooove it and i would NOT go back to Fitbit!

Best Buy even stopped selling warranties at I believe FitBit's request because they were claimed for breaking during that time almost ALL the time. I used to use the original Alta, and it was inconsistent Bluetooth, so claimed my warranty and got a Huawei Watch 2. That was a great upgrade, until it had it's own battery issues, but with that warranty and over time, got that money to get a Series 3 at regular price and $40 back towards the iPhone X. Landed at the better option myself.

I chose the Apple Watch 5. Even though I was really disappointed that Apple hasn't progressed with the battery life and on board sleep tracking in 6 iterations of the watch, I think the additional features are worth the price. Yes, I could have waiting for apple's next watch which should surely have these features...but I've said that ever year for 4 or 5 years. Not found of Apple's sort of attrition tactic there. While I couldn't care less about the always on feature, using the watch when you can't answer your phone quickly enough, or for pulses while using the GPS, or to help you locate your phone...those are all very helpful features that I enjoyed with my original Apple Watch. Also, I've seen a lot of concerning reviews about Fitbit's poor customer service over the past year or so. Also, it sounds like people are having problems with their Fitbit products crashing and responding poorly to updates. I really like that compiles data with sort of this inclusive look at your health and that you can find all that information laid out without opening multiple apps. However, I can't abide poor quality and poor customer service. Fitibit has been negotiating possible acquisition by Google. Not sure how I feel about that.

I chose the Apple Watch series 5 even if more expensive than the Versa 2 for a few reasons. 1. I never take my phone with me when on runs so I wanted the built-in GPS; 2. i really wanted an always-on display and this is the first Apple Watch that finally delivers that and 3. I think it looks better and can be worn at more dressed up occasions than the Versa. Have had it for a couple weeks and I'm liking it a lot :) Nice comparison video btw!!

I don't know where you are getting $400 for the apple watch from - that must be US pricing lol LUCKY because here in Canada it is $741 no term price or $35/mo on 2 year contract + $35 hook up fee and $10/mo for 1G of data. I ended up scoring the FitBit Versa 2 on sale during black friday for $199.99 - no additional fees. That was ultimately my deciding factor - plus, I really liked the sleep monitoring feature, battery life and design. Great review! Thank you :)

Why not to say that Versa 2 has SpO2 sensor, which allows tracking breath and, as a result, not only calculate sleep score, but detect and track sleep stages. Sleep tracking is very important feature - even for those who don't think about it.

The Apple Watch is the better "smart watch", but if someone's focus is a fitness band that may also have smart features then the versa 2 is probably the better option since fitbit has always been a reference when it comes to fitness bands.

I ruined my Fitbit 1 by showering with it for over a year which made the screen glitch out and was going back and forth with the Apple Watch series 3 and FV2 but the battery and distraction of the watch just throws me off. I will be investing in a FV2 for these reasons. It worked so well for my lifestyle and the Apple Watch needs to step it up when it comes to working with android phones and battery life.

As someone who owns both android / iphone , likes to track sleep without worrying about battery, fitbit just made more sense although Apple Watch is technically more superior with internal tech.

The sleep data is kept in the health app on iPhone. Also if you want to extent the battery life of the apple watch turn off raise to wake if you have an active job. I have the original apple watch and it wasn't making a full day. I turned off the raise to wake and suddenly the watch had tons of battery left at the end of the day.

Bunny Chandu no it’s not bad. It’s pretty good actually. It isn’t accurate on tracking all the steps and things like that. Really wasn’t made for that. Fitbit is designed for exercise. It’s more accurate. I love my versa 2. Plus with a versa you don’t have to have 20 million apps to track everything.

I just got the Fitbit Versa 2, also i have the Android phones, no iPhone for me, and i love it so far, and with Fitbit Pay, it's very convenient, sometimes i let my wallet at home and then you have your watch on you

Here's the thing, I have the Fitbit Versa ... I have owned a lot of Fitbits, the issue with them is that they do not last longer than a year. Have had one that lasted longer that 12mo. ONE My Versa is coming up on 1year, it's starting to have issues, glitchs like today it stopped tracking my heart rate. ALSO it tracks your sleep but to get the sleep score & all the data you have to pay for the premium membership that runs $10 a month! So, as I get ready to replace my Fitbit I'm really looking at the Apple Watch. If it lasts longer than 2 years the price will be well worth it!

I've went thru 2 different fitbits to specifically spot differences & both were inaccurate wl my steps & sleep which are the two I find most important. I wanted to like the fitbit more but I have to say the apple watch.

Have had several fit bits but one of the down side of it is that I don’t know what it is but the plastic straps always bring me up in a rash and I’m not allergic to anything
