One thing life has taught me and it's a very harsh reality: Weddings and funerals will always bring out a person's true colors and it's not always pleasant.

Oh yes, I can agree with that. My stepdad died of a heart attack in 2016 and the day after he died, my step-sister started acting strangly, we originally thought it was because she was grieving like me and my mom, but she really showed her true colors afterwards, when my mom did things like arrange stuff for the funeral, she took credit for that, she asked if my mom wanted a song to be played after the service was over, she took that away from her etc

It's a strange sad thing 😢 PSA: Everyone, do your wills and Trusts and Advanced Directives and make arrangements now... My Nana always said "Tomorrow is not promised to anyone." RIP ❤🙏

Sadly this story reminds me of people in my own extended family who have and will act like this when elders pass on.

We had the same thing after my great grandparents passed away. My great aunt showed her true colors and we haven’t seen her nor her family ever since. Her daughter and the daughter’s husband were very much the same, gold diggers. We knew it all along but never realized how badly they were only after money. Money was way more important than the only family they had left. Now even her daughter is divorced for the same gold digging ways. You’re not alone in people showing their true colors durning a death. I hope you are doing well and have people that truly love you around you always

My BIL was trying to get EVERYTHING he could. Thank GOD my husband's OTHER sister was in charge of the estate! He tried to grab family heirlooms & everything else! The best was that I had bought a small multi-ladder to work on my FIL's place before the sale of the property. My BIL came to take my FIL's ladder (a 7' fiberglass ladder), but was ACTUALLY looking for mine....that he KNEW I had bought! His latest was spending his daughter's disability money on a "family" vacation. They stayed at the good in-laws place, he paid for very little of anything (his DAUGHTER paid) AND my he expected my good in laws to pay for their rental car & gas! The good in-laws did just to keep the peace! The very saddest part of that was that he told my husband that his daughter would get out of the group home they placed her in "when she got married". These are just scratching the surface of what he has done over the years. He is truly a HORRIBLE person!

@@wendymonkelien-brown579 oh geez that sounds absolutely awful. When my husbands parents became sick, my mother in law had dementia and my father in law stage 4 lung cancer that had metastasis to the brain, this was years after my own father passed away from stage 4 lung cancer), my husband was an absolute mess. We lived 5 years away from them and my brother in law lives on the other side of the country. We went to them when my father in law needed up in the hospital and that when we find out he had cancer. I told my husband to live them into our home because we’d be able to bring my father in law to treatment and still have someone there to stay with my mother in law ( my mom live with us since the passing of my father). My brother in law didn’t even come out to see his parents. At less point, I was married to my husband whom wanted his brother to be the best man at our wedding and is the godfather to our daughter, I never met and our daughter was 8 when all this happened. We took care of them for a year when my mother in law needed to be put in a home and shortly after, my father in law passed away. My husband took care of their assets because he was the one in charge of their estate. We finally told my brother in law he needed to come see his parents since we were going in a family vacation and he needed to help with his father. My husband didn’t even take the monthly fee that’s 100% allowed while taking care of the estate because he was worried about his OLDER brother causing hell over the estate. My husband has a good job, makes good money, is married with children, I make good money, while his brother is a bum. The brother came out for their fathers funeral but never came out for their mothers, which broke my heart because even though she was in a nursing home with dementia, she was such a great woman before all this, saying, “it’s Iike she’s been dead to me for years and I just don’t see a reason to come back for this”. We divided the assets according to the will and haven’t heard from him since. But my husband was so worried he’d cause problems over the will that he didn’t even take what was rightfully his. His brother is much like his father was, a trash bag and I’m thankful I only had to deal with him a handful of times

MIL says DIL needs to go to the hospital after being told her DIL’s mother is dying. Then when they go to leave she snarkely says “Are you just going to leave us like this?!” What a revolting woman.

Inherited money doesn’t have to be shared with anyone else! Not even the husband or wife are entitled to the inheritance! Let them contact you! It means absolutely nothing! Change your number and move away from them. This is so stupid! Leon is clueless! He’s doing exactly what he told him not to say! I would come after this moronic clueless man ! Unbelievable!! It’s no one’s business WTH!

Grief can make people confused and sometimes go into shock, and it's something that can affect loved ones that can last for weeks or months after someone dies , they basically end up in a zombie like state, and they end up clinging to the only other people and family around them for safety and comfort, and unfortunately they are very easily manipulated at this time.
