Alright, so there’s really a lot to say about this tage. It’s the biggest project I’ve ever done as well as the best gameplay I have ever had the pleasure of editing. It was supposed to be out over the summer, but then college happened.
Many of you may not have heard of Yoshi (this is his first big montage after all), but you’re not gonna forget him after this video. I, like many others, was first introduced to him through Kampy’s stream. Watching him go into a custom game lobby and just absolutely destroy everyone in the most casual way possible was absolutely hilarious. Not to mention that time that Kampy hosted him and he IMMEDIATELY hit the first Killionaire on the Halo 5 map, Fracture, resulting in one of the greatest chat pop offs that I have ever seen. After talking with him for a while, I learned that he had some insane MCC clips and no editor. Kampy would constantly say “I gotta make you a montage” after watching one of his ridiculous clips on stream, but you know…Kampy is Kampy (miss you pls come back). So, I ended up picking up the project while Yoshi hit plenty of clips along the way. Yoshi’s clips, in my opinion, are just unreal in this video. I had an absolute blast editing your insane gameplay man and I truly hope I did it justice.
I started this project back in March and went really quickly on it for a while. I synced all 4 songs in a matter of 2 weeks (tons of motivation and time back then). Then I ended up finishing both songs 1 and 4 before the summer completely…then I did Anomaly with Aaron…and then my motivation just hit a wall. I went a good month without touching this project at all. I started working on it again about 2 weeks before I left for college, but knew I wouldn’t be able to finish it in time. So, I transferred everything to my laptop (which was an absolute pain) and took the project with me to college…only to find out that college life and editing really don’t mix very well. I barely edited this video while I was at school, so here is where I have to give a HUGE shoutout to Cam (Noremac) for staging a ton of angles and sending them to me. It means a lot man, this project wouldn’t even be out this year if it wasn’t for you. So I guess this is kind of a dual-edit in some respects, most of the angles in song 2 and song 3 are from Cam.
The contest deadline quickly caught up to me and it was always in the back of my mind while I have been at school. So, about a week ago I decided to stop partying and start grinding. The past week has consisted of the most editing I have done since summer started. Song 1 and song 4 ended up being finished about 6 months before the other two were. That very last clip is a reaction from Kampy, Eli, Trunks, Ishii, Murph, and a few others to a 1st song render that I showed to them in Atlanta back in July. So long story short, I was able to submit it to the competition, definitely many months later than I wanted to, but I did it.
I honestly am super happy with how this video came out, I think this is some of my best editing work yet. It’s not perfect, and there are some mistakes that you’ll probably notice (which I couldn’t change because my workflow is trash), but overall I am very proud of how this video came out. I can’t thank Yoshi enough for being so patient with me throughout the whole process.
Overall, I am so happy to finally be able to show you guys what I have been working on throughout the majority of this year. This is gonna be my last "big" editing project for a while for sure, but I'll still be around when I can.

I've watched this at least 5 times now and even though I saw a few of those clips before and knew what to expect out of Yoshi, I still can't get over how mind-blowing his raw talent is. Being able to do this sort of stuff in a game as unforgiving as H3, esp on MCC is just insane. I don't care if it's social clips. The degree of MASTERY needed to achieve half of what is in there is not even reasonable to expect out of top talent. I'm honored I even got to witness this. Thanks for making the best Halo out there look so damn good. Apple. Your editing was amazing to begin with and I feel like this project allowed it to level up even further. It's hard to describe a vibe in words, but there's a perfect balance of upbeat action and just emotional/epic moments that matched the level of the GP so well. I legit end up sitting there in awe and get a little melancholic whenever it's about to end. There's moments where it's like "oh no he's not gonna do it..." and then it happens, and the editing embodies it to perfection. The whole pace, transitions and cinematics were so smooth that a 16 min video feels like 5 at most. I know I'll be watching this a lot in the future. It sucks knowing Halo is not at its peak because this is nothing short of a masterwork in terms of Halo content and without a doubt one of the best videos ever made. It'll forever deserve more recognition than it will ever get. But nonetheless, thanks for spoiling us who are still around.

What the actual fuck... I didn't even know who this guy was until now. The consistent high multis that are just so clean. This absolutely blew my expectations. I'm putting Yoshi in the elite company of Dutchy, fatrat, kampy, Ishii, and those boys. Practically every clip was just like "wtf he actually did that".

Wow I'm glad I essentially quit when I did because there's no way I could have ever gotten gameplay even close to this good, like I don't think I have a single clip on MCC you could throw into this montage and it wouldn't look out of place/bad compared to everything else. I really have no clue where do even begin, but I'll try.... Editing wise I can assure you that this was definitely one of if not your best edit thus far, everything from the subtle syncs such as the back to back double scope ins, to the yoshi fall/landing sound and just the overall flow.... I mean come on, it's really just out of this world! Gameplay wise.... I have not been this impressed I think ever, not only from watching the montage but from just watching raw clips of yoshi's gameplay it's just mindblowing how fast and how he already thinks of what his next move will be before he even kills the guy. It's truly something else, a whole new level of gameplay! To be honest, I don't think I've ever made it through a montage this long without skipping or just clicking away cause I just get bored but I was literally sitting at the edge of my seat through the entire masterpiece! Wow I don't even know where to start, this was just straight up insane. Best clips I've ever seen - so many naires (I'll count when I rewatch LOL), 341 lasers, 4v4 naire x2, snipes poc exterm, guardian tast, longshore 241 naire x2, standoff tast exterm... I could go on but you get the point. I'm sure that this will always remain as one of the top 3 (social) montages, gameplay wise. The editing, Chris, was what I've come to expect from you. Great flow and effects throughout, generally pretty upbeat and showing the clips very nicely. Loved the soundtrack (not sure who picked the songs), felt really intense towards the end (final song is definitely one of my favourite montage segments of all time). Angles and transitions were on point too. Think this might win best gameplay and come somewhere in the top 3 in the HaloIsBack.com montage competition - best of luck to both of you :)

Where the community has long been declining, yet the clips are getting better. The correlation between the amount of players and the new bar for clips is insane. The amount of high multikill exterms in this is so fucking absurd. Im not a big medal/standards talker but man watching yoshis gameplay makes me want to delete my whole clips folder. My personal favourites were the opening troc and the two exterms on vehicle drivers. The exterm on the hog driver in the beginning killed me. Thats an absolute dream clip for me. I always wanted to hit something like that. Chris absolutely nailed the editing. The flow was perfect on every song. The final song felt like a homage to the last song from dlongos tage which i loved. I would write a lot more but my english sucks and the other comments perfectly described my thoughts about this already. Best H3 Montage after Dlongos Movie.

Jesus Christ lads... Okay, so I came into this video being cold af, having 30 mins of laptop struggles and being really tired since it's 3am here... I came out with my mind blown and a smile on my face. _THAT gameplay_ Seriously Yoshi wtf, you killed it so hard man. What an incredible display of skill this was, youre truly way too fucking good at this game... Clip after clip blew me away... Always knew you were on of the top 3 H3 players out there, but this just solidified it. Fav clip was the 4v4 naire (+1 cause that's how Yoshi does shit) of course, audibly screamed out *HE'S GONNA DO IT* when red dudes just kept dropping, and then you fucking did it, unbelievable. After so many years (unless there's some tage I dont know about, Im a newbie after all)... Really though, you've got a piece of work to be proud off. Chris, solid job on letting the gp shine (figuratively and literally). Angles where clean with a couple creative ones seasoned on to keep things tasty. Syncing was done to perfecting, especially the final part. Nailed the SFX as well, just a great joy to watch :) Way to end the contest boys, killed it.

we've seen some amazing montages in 2017, but this is most definitely one of the best, not only of the year but of all time. The gameplay is just too good, as someone who has spent his entire career choking nearly every shot that matters, I just cant comprehend how someone can stack this many clips of this caliber. Enjoyed all 16 minutes of that rape porn I just watched. Like not only were the clips disgusting but they were so unique, lots of unusual locations and sick map movement, amazing shots. Construct 341 laser was so refreshing, more people should use laser on that map. Man the clip list goes on and on, cant even list everything that stood out but lets just say every clip was fucking dirt nasty ebola status. OH and it was awesome seeing that Guardian nade jump over in this, I know its an older clip but it's a gem. Apple slayed the edit, I've always enjoyed his edits but this has gotta be his best yet. That finale was especially well done. Really beautiful and nostalgic with all those angles. Loved all the sick effects and nice syncing as well. You guys just made a masterpiece and Yoshi basically ended everyone's careers, so yeahh GG have fun placing in the comp guys. Thank you for this

I'll be honest, I haven't been keeping up with the montage scene really as of late after cancelling my 2 montage contest entries, I kinda stopped caring about montaging and halo since September, I just couldn't give a shit anymore, I was grateful seeing someone edit a montage but even still I wasn't too interested anymore in this scene and franchise.....That is until now. Man this is such a beautifully crafted tage, Its like the definition of saying, get back up on your ass and GET CLIPS AND EDIT! In other words, inspirational. I think people do have the right idea of whats gonna win this year, I thought it'd be ubernicks montage, but I think this will take the cake, something about this tage feels special, I mean of course, its an M1 to a godly h3 player and the god damn dino that I ride on through Mario world. But its not just that, it feels like its a finale or something, I mean to the contest it is but, idk, the clips too feel like its a last hurrah. And in terms of clips, its Yoshi's best from what i can imagine and it shows, loads of high multis with multiple naires in clips and some really disgusting ass shots. Editing? Probably your best yet, i loved the clip with the *fuck* for fucking up the laser tac. The music is perfect, it goes well with the feeling/tone of this tage, It gives me a thought thinking *yes its finally here man, finally :)* with these songs, and that finale part was on point, the transitions were smooth as ice, the effects were flashy like always with you Chris ;) and the syncing was top, Fucking, NOTCH! Overall, Great Job you two, not only have you probably won the contest, but you inspired me to try my best and make halo content again, Ill be trying my best to upload at least a montage before Christmas. *reads comments about how good this is* Alright...the best Halo montage I've ever seen, to this day, is still Str8 Rippin's Halo 3 montage. A masterpiece. 10/10. Will this be as good, or nearly as good? Lets see.... While there's a metric ton of sniper clips, they're quite entertaining. You have a monster aim, dude. Wow. Its not up to par with Str8, in my opinion. That montage is too darn good. But this was fun to watch. AppleFanatic, your editing is terrific. Loved it. Songs fit the pace so well. 9/10. I can see this becoming a classic, depending on how long Halo montages continue to come out.
