Let me first start off by saying, I made this as a surprise for Tony and therefore was unable to use any of his old live captured clips that he was planning on using. So this is by no means an “official” M2 from Kampy - this is a project that I made using all the information I had from Tony and was made mostly as a birthday present and a tribute in a way to all of the entertainment that Kampy has given the community over the years.
With that in mind, Tony and I were originally going to dual edit his montage 2 before he disappeared. This is the main reason I felt uniquely compelled to take this project on myself. We discussed everything from the clips, song choices (more on that later), editing style, to the little touches that he enjoyed most in his favorite edits. I took all of this to heart when I made this project (and added some little references too) and I hope I did it justice.
The soundtrack to this video was a topic of much debate for Tony when he was in the process of editing. He went through a few songs and scrapped multiple edits. He brought the second song (Drive) to my attention shortly before he left, so I figured this would be the song he would most enjoy being used. The first song however, was something I pretty much winged. Tony was very much set on having a dedicated Champ FFA section in this video and wanted a fast paced song for it. He waited for MONTHS for a song to release only to be disappointed with the final version. So with this in mind, I went to Tony’s SoundCloud likes and saw that he liked the most recent Chvrches album. So I picked a short, fast paced, song that I thought I could edit to well. I hope you like it Tony!
I don’t really need to say this, but the gameplay in this video is absolutely ridiculous. Tony felt strongly about variety in his montages and would always prefer a flashier lower multi to a more standard jaro+. I went through every single one of his account’s DVR films to find the clips that I believed he would want to use in a main montage. Some of the FFA clips I remember him talking about were expired, but I think I found all of the social clips he wanted to use. To reiterate, since this was a surprise project, I DID NOT CONSULT TONY AT ALL ABOUT THE CLIPS IN THIS VIDEO. So, I chose the gameplay based on everything Tony and I talked about related to his video standards. I think I did a good job overall with the clips I chose and again, Tony’s gameplay is just insane.
Editing wise, I tried to stick to the fundamentals here. Tony always favored simple edits that showcase gameplay first and foremost. That’s what I consider to be my biggest editing strong suit, so I felt very comfortable with the decisions I made in this video. When we were going to dual edit, Tony wanted me to add my “signature” glows and flares, so I kept those throughout the video as long as they didn’t interrupt the gameplay. I honestly feel like this is some of my best flow in an edit so far and am very happy with the result. Editing H5 can be an absolute pain with the constant medal annoyances, angle staging (thanks a ton to Mint Blitz, Bambo, La Jako, and Games4uie), and its uncanny ability to make every CC I’ve ever made look like absolute trash, but I pushed through it and I hope you all love it. Shoutout to DoubleAA for some serious help throughout this.
Finally, I just wanted to give a quick message to Tony. I know you’re very private about your life man and I respect that, but just know that your presence in this community is sorely missed. Being a part of your stream’s community, making a dualtage with you, and meeting up with you and the homies in ATL last year have made a serious impact on my life. You were the person who first inspired me to make Halo content and meet people in the community and I will always be grateful of that. Whether or not you return, I hope this video shows off the amazing clips you hit, fun stream moments we had, and ultimately how much easier you made the majority of the H5 lifespan for the community. Much love man, thank you for everything.

After a few more watches I can finally gather all my thoughts, I just loved everything about this, the clips were insane, the editing was incredible. Kampy was and will always be my favourite streamer of all time, he was there back when I worked an awful 9 - 5 office job, I would watch his stream vods as a way to pass the time in what was the most boring / depressing stage of my life. He was the first person I ever subbed / donated too and I really hope that someday he returns or even has one last stream. Again amazing video man, you did such a perfect job.

It's amazing to discover that Tony hit this many clips before he quit playing. This montage truly displays all of his skill, not just social taging. I love how you honored his wishes of a dedicated FFA section of the video, and especially how you went about finding the first song. I can appreciate how difficult it is to find just the right track for a tage of this caliber. I also know how much you struggled through getting angles and whatnot for this thanks to how bs Halo 5 is. Kudos for sticking through it - it turned out fantastic. After my third time thoroughly watching this through (first time I was too busy spamming PogChamp Clap) it really made me look back at all the memories made in Tony's stream. Seeing everyone from his streams who I hadn't seen in almost a year really felt amazing. The spam during the premiere combined with all the names in chat made it something else. As if I was watching Kampys H5 M2 being premiered on his stream. As Mike stated, "Unity." Also Tony, if you're reading this, I just want to say I miss you a lot dude. That was an emotional video, you did a great job with that editing wise! I respect this video and execution a ton!! Kampy always gave me a reason to put in the hours making montages after he streamed my first good one and got me exposure I had never experienced on youtube. He's very down to earth and a great guy. I never talked to him a lot vocally but theres a reason why he was so successful in such a niche community. His personality was one of the best in the entire Halo community all time. It's sad to see him inactive, but I totally understand. There could be many reasons for it, but what he did for the community will always be with us and he deserves to be able to have his privacy without our permission. Apple, you did an absolutely perfect job on this. You showcased his clips with solid editing, yet you didn't muddy the clips with too many effects...which is my favorite editing style. This was perfect man, I already watched it twice. I know I was skeptical of the idea from the beginning, but this pretty much couldn’t have been done any better. I admire your sticking to the ethos of the project and keeping things as authentic as possible in the absence of the real Tony. In that you succeeded really greatly. As for the tage itself, I’d say this is better than his M1 in every way. First song was more gameplay focused but the edit on song 2 really had me hooked, not to mention the mix of sick high multi medals and insane tricky small plays. watched this when it first came out but i'm just now getting around to commenting. This was so incredibly well done Chris. The editing and song choice was perfect. I love the effort you put into trying to edit the clips in a way tony would like and I appreciate the extent to which you tried to find a song he would have liked by checking his sound cloud. The clips in this where insane. I especially loved the killtac no-scope on Eden, the molten overkill no scope jumping trough the window, and the molten triple no-scope overkill. You've done an awesome thing for the community by making this and I'm glad to hear tony likes it as much as we all do.

This video reminded me of how kampy made Halo 5 fun to watch and Halo more enjoyable in general. I slightly lost interest since he left. At least, I'm not addicted anymore. I'm kinda disappointed it's not his official M2 with his own clips choice after being so hyped when I saw the thumbnail, like it's a dream that comes true, but I feel like that's gonna be another of those montages I will watch thousands of times, even after the official M2 will be out. Congrats on the edit man, it was exceptional and Kampy's clips are obviously ridiculous. Ho and by the way, happy birthday Kampy ! ^^

This was awesome, kampy was my biggest inspiration to get into halo/montaging ish, but ever since he’s been gone I haven’t had the drive to even touch halo. I would come home from school watch his stream then grind, at this point halo is pretty much irrelevant in my life. Thanks for everything krumpy, miss ya ;(

Was not ready for the emotional trip here; that was edited beautifully Chris. Had your signature style with some old school feels. But the gameplay was absurd, those low sexy medals had my jaw on the floor from start to finish. Awesome job man! Hope Tony can fully appreciate this and that he's doing well!

I DID NOT EXPECT THIS SO SOON! Bruh it's so good to see a new kampy video even if he isn't technically back. The live reactions were classic with clips I actually remember all the way back in 2016 like the plaza snipe ninja tac and the triple team stick naire for the closing clip. That jumpscare clip though 😂 lmao. I loved all the tiny details harkening back to apex, paragon, etc. Definitely feels like an emotional roller-coaster for me haha. Now the clips, people might be confused with the lower ffa multis on the first song but they were mostly on his main acc with disgusting plays on players that have an idea of what to do. And the second song which I think was fucking fantastic in terms of syncing, clips, editing, flow, you name it. I felt so joyful but so sad while watching this. Amazing job to kampys grind on the clips and live reactions 😂 and a spectacular amount of praise should be thrown at you apple for making this man still look like the beast that he is today, even if he isn't really around with us anymore. Hopefully that'll change soon. Right? :) P.S okay, now THIS is epic ;]
