I love that Doechii is a dark-skinned Black woman whose gift is making room for her! She is being seen and her star is rising. I pray that she becomes a superstar because so many dark skinned brown girls need to see that they are not limited because of their complexion (regardless of the myth of society). You can hear some of Nicki’s influence, along with other influences, but most importantly Doechii is telling her own story. Many of the other rap girlies are just trying to follow a formula. I was never that, it was only Nicki for me.

Sadly i didnt discover Doechii earlier but im happy to say that im a very big fan from now on. The way she carries herself, the effort, the vision in her work is genuinely amazing and shows so much maturity. It's also super inspiring for me and not in a "Just grind away" type of thing but a "live your truth" kind of way. Be confident and youll end up where you need to be.
