Although we're not close, Brandi is a family friend. To think back on her singing in my living room with just her guitar... I'll never forget. She deserves everything and finally getting the recognition she deserves. 💖

So many things I love about this interview. But the three things I want to point out: *I am a born and raised WA state girl: it is clearly magnificent. *Zane is the best interviewer. I’ve been waiting for this in-depth conversation with Brandi. *Brandi is everything…her music, her song writing, her wisdom. If you haven’t already, listen to all of her music and listen to her audiobook if you can get your hands on it.

You know those artists that you hear for the first time and it is immediate love. She is her music and her music is her. She can play a set with forty people on the stage or cover a John Prine by herself at home while grieving his loss and either is magical.

At one point she says she felt like she was a rock star back when singing karaoke as a teen, and felt like she was just one step away from having "made it". She said, "I just always thought, 'I've arrived...every step of the way" ..."i've arrived', 'I've arrived'". This made sense to me because so many comments I've seen over the years have been about how underrated she was or how she's "finally made it" and finally being duly appreciated for the incredible talent she is. But to hear her actually say she felt she'd "arrived" every step of the way, is interesting to me because her music along with the way she's performed and delivered for 2 decades always FELT so "there". Never felt like like an unpolished work in progress. Even if in hindsight and in light of this new music, some of it WAS that. Now want to read her book! This was a wonderful interview.

There is no escaping the facts. The Bible is truth. Contrary to popular narrative, Christianity is the first and only true faith and science and love and source of wisdom. Every other ideology is, at its core, a forgery of the one true original. Like gold. It is real and has its own intrinsic value within its own natural properties. Paper bills and bank account points and crypto currency are all subject to inflation and redundancy given time and corrupt manipulations. They are merely temporary solutions in the void of ownership, and use, of real gold. Equally so there is only one God. The God of the Bible. The God who promised in the Old Testament time and again that He would one day send His only Son to show the world who He is and save all those who long for truth and mercy in this world. His word in the Old Testament was fulfilled in the New Testament. To receive Jesus' mercy freely, is a choice. Yet to reject his love and truth and merciful forgiveness is also every bit as much, A CHOICE. How do YOU choose? The CHOICE will become historic. For us. Or against us. WE CHOOSE. THINK About WHAT THAT MEANS IN REAL TERMS. The deciding factor is thus HUMILITY because only a proud fool would reject God's mercy when it was offered to him free of charge, payed for by the suffering of God himself. We CHOOSE, you see?

Every time I listen to you I am amazed at your wisdom, insight, and love of life. Your songs touch me like none before. Just waited 8 hours at the Roots and Blues Festival so I could be up front to listen to you in person for the first time. Met all kinds and ages of people who joined together as friends, all waiting for your arrival, but enjoying the other acts along the way. I am 66 years old, standing next to two 15 year olds, some gay women, some couples; all of us joined in our love of your music. I keep listening and watching my videos and enjoying. An excellent adventure in my life. Thanks!

It started out of as an interview 4 me, but somewhere, there was this transition that happened, & it ended up feeling, like a had somehow in the midst had been transported & in those woods, b/c I felt it rare gift of watching up close, yet unseen, listening in on 2 close friends sharing this really beautiful, personal & honest conversation.💖 It's kinda of ironic & I'm embarrassed that NOT until late last nite, I had never stumbled onto Brandi Carlile for the 1st time. BUT...it was interesting how 1 key topic about was time. AND for ever reason, it wasn't til, last nite, hearing her sing on someone else's album, that I was curious who she was. AND suddenly, I had watched her sing 2 performance songs at a festival & 1 w/ Dolly Parton. I couldn't help but take some notes. BUT...it slowed me down BUT I couldn't MAKE MYSELF stop & finish it today b/c I was so absorbed in their conversation. Timing. I'm NOT one who believes a lot in coincidences. Thank You 💖🙏🏽💞

This interview was transformative. I've been watching brandi from the get go as a teenager and her music always takes me on a journey. I heard her sing hallelujah acoustically at a show and it made me burst into tears. She is a one of a kind ! Zane was the perfect person to interview her, they were on the same wavelength . 👏 brillant!

Honestly, I 1st thought it was an interviews, BUT yet it didn't take long, that it felt like they were close friends. A beautiful aspect, was there were times, he asked her questions for himself, to glean some insight. I'm JUST only somewhat EMBARRASSED that I hadn't heard of her before. BUT...ironically I 1st watched her, not even watch her, but heard her sing on audio video performing a duet. I then stumbled up her singing at a Folk Festival with Dolly Parton & then her magic all the more, when she sang, "Hallelujah" acoustically. AND then stumbled onto this interview.

What an amazing interview and I'm so happy they chose to do the interview in the gorgeous woods she calls home. I've been privledged to follow her musical journey since 2007 and she and the twins are such amazing performers. The band's authenticity truly shines in their live performances and should not be missed if you've the opportunity. Their live music brings out so many emotions for me personally and you do see it in others there who are openly weeping and it's a safe space for everyone. Her fellow fans are just amazing peeps. It's fun to see she's a fellow pyro and nailbiter but she's a great fire-tender. I am anxiously awaiting the release of In These Silent Days and seeing her at the Frost Amphitheater on its release date.
