Apple themselves still charge higher prices for black color, the black version of large Magic Keyboard with touch ID costs 20€ more than the white version, same for the Magic Trackpad and the Magic Mouse costs even 24 bucks more (109 instead of 85€). I somehow like these Polycarbonate plastic MacBooks, sadly these are prone to crack nearby the hinges (I guess because of the edgy cut-out, so there's too high tension/strain and also because of the thermals by the nearby heat exhaust that may lead to fatigue/softening over the years), this reminds me of the PowerBook G4 Titanium, they had shitty exposed hinges and painted some areas (instead of PVD coating, maybe with TiAlN (grey to black) or TiN (golden), both are often used on cutting tools or anodizing it) and that paint quickly chipped off.

Putting Linux on it period will make it useful. But keeping it on the macOS software makes it pretty unusable

I had one of these a few years back, I put a 2009 logic board in it iirc after a small case mod, standoffs are in different places

that thing is decent under 10.8 mountain lion, as you can't go any further than that, but as 10.8 has modern chromium you can always live with it

This actually looks like my old Windows laptop that was released in 2013 especially the screen display, Apple were always far ahead with their macbooks because it still looks sleeker than my 2013 windows laptop. Can the RAM be upgraded to 4/8GB? and is it supported in opencore legacy patcher to upgrade slightly even to Big Sur?

You probably had a cheap 2013 Windows laptop then because in 2013 you could get "Ultrabooks" with Windows 8 that looked much modern than this by far lmao

@@alvzcizzler actually no, it was an ASUS model that drew direct design inspiration from the MacBook, they retailed for about €500 in my country, it ran Windows 10 well until 2020

@@ColinsCity Well Asus wasn't known for their sleek design until a few years ago with their Zephyrus line maybe but HP, Samsung and others did had modern sleek designs, more so than the MacBook Air at the time which those were competing with, this were the so called "Ultrabooks" all though Asus did had the ZenBook line, such as the 2013 Asus ZenBook 15 which was pretty nice
