The passports/ID cards' info are send to the police in the morning with 2 lists, citizens and international guests that spend the night, at least the hotel I was administrator of had this policy, because we had to have the lists stamped and signed by the police. So the police actually has to come in person to check for arriving clients or reservations and with a letter containing the case number, because we won't disclose personal info to just anyone who'd say they're calling from the police.

Why didn't she report the theft to the French Police? That way she'd have got her tickets and money back and the evil pair would probably be kicked out of the country.

Also no mention of seeking help from the embassy - which should be the second step after reporting the theft to the police and if it turns out that the thieving pair cannot be found and/or have thrown out her passport. The embassy would then help her to get back home.
@bridgettoverton9770 Жыл бұрын
That is probably what her friend helped her do and getting them booted from the country wouldn't help as she needed the time state side to get everything going and set up much easier to make them suffer that way the French guy stealing from them is just icing on the cake...I would have them pay to get my passport replaced and enjoy many more trips without them as it seems she can definitely afford it just from the house alone and of course she's probably still able to work

Somehow he was not able to understand the concept of "in sickness or health" in the marriage vows, and I would assume "sickness" would include HANDICAP for the vows. (By the way we never found out WHY she was handicapped, she just said "you know why" to the MIL. It would have made him seem like even more of a piece of crap if it was his fault in some way (accidental though, no way she would stay married if it was on purpose). Plus maybe he is oblivious to the sociological zeitgeist of our society? Our society has made a huge deal about how handicapped people can still enjoy life and participate in life adventures. We have everything from organizations set up to help handicapped people and advocate for them to laws like the Americans with Disabilities act and other antidiscrimination laws. She could walk short distances so she didn't need one at home so she only got practice on our trips. So she wasn't great at maneuvering and was having trouble zig zagging around the ropes around wait lines and these young people (They were not kids. I would say early 20s) started pointing and laughing at her. I wanted to choke them. They made her cry and I had to take over steering the ECV. Only someone who comes from a country, where parents have legal rights to say whether their adult offspring must get divorced, could think this. The late Queen Elizabeth 11 was said to have 'ordered' 2 of her sons to divorce, but 'ordered', was Royal speak, for 'allowed.' Children of the monarch and their descendants need the monarch's permission to marry. Commoners in England only need parental permission if they are 16 or 17, while in Scotland , no-one needs parental permission to marry.

A lot of this is just ridiculous. Abandoning a disabled person would be a criminal offense. I don't know about Europe but in the U.S. they would be charged with abuse and neglect of a vulnerable person which is a felony in most states. Especially just leaving her in a foreign country. The husband and MIL could have been arrested rhe minute they got back in the country. Would have been no need to sell the house she spent money to have adapted for her. She also could have filed a civil suit, that would have left them both broke. There are laws to protect the disabled in this country and probably in most European countries as human rights is a big deal in the European Union. Don't see the point of bringing in a sister who's a "Former gang member" as a deaux ex machina, when the police dealing with it would have made more sense.It's really sloppy and lazy writing. Makes for a very pathetic story. One of the worst I've heard on here.

Leaving your wife behind is bad enough, leaving one in her wheelchair in a foriegn country is reprehensible.

Good job Sophia. Revenge is best served cold. If you're going to dimp someone, you might want to make sure you also co- own the house.

I don’t think the French police will take kindly of Allen and his mother stealing from a disabled person. Not to mention if Allen is treating his wife like this wait until his mother starts to decline. I hate the fact the mother has my deadname Edit: I’m Canadian and I speak French better than my ancestral language, Armenian. And btw France is very sympathetic to my ancestral nationality
