I took mine to a machine shop so they can press the bearing housing back on the transmission they charged me only $10. It does require alot of force.

I just checked the link, looks like a better (consumer friendly) design for bearing replacement. Thanks for the info.

My GE washer's transmission has the bearing held in by stamping the housing against the bearing edge. They would have to be ground clear to remove and repunched to hold them in, I think. Do you let us know in part 2? Thanks.

That fix the non washing condition ? Mine spin but when turn opposite direction the motor to wash don't apply the trans

Could you provide the part number and manufacturer for the bearning? I have my transmission problem in which it can agitate but not spin. Thanks.

Standard bearing number 6205-2rs (ebay,amazon) but, do check the number that is printed on the rubber side once you removed all the dirt. Hope this will help you?

@@MrTork49 That is the number on the old bearing, but the new bearing with same exact number has too small of I.D. Don't know how they put it on? Too much force required. I can't find a transmission anywhere except E Bay and they are trying to get the highest bid, so they won't just sell it now. I should have saved all my parts money and put it towards a new machine. Disgusting that the manufacturer doesn't keep parts for these older machines!

Hey Don, thank you so much for your helpful video. Unfortunately, the company you have listed in the URL did not send me the correct parts and then closed my issue as though it had been resolved. S Thomas shitty music at that. This is the type of music that would be pumped into your head when some Asian injun puts you on hold. Or you can hear it playing in the background on elevators. Perhaps that explains some people's fear of elevators.
