Thanks, I appreciate guys like you that lend a helping hand, took the time to make this video. We've already replaced the washer, I just wanted that steel drum in the old washer to make a burn barrel with. The nut is soaking in liquid wrench for now, gonna give it a little time and try again. Thanks again!

Spent 5 days on it. Either buy the 1 11/16 impact wrench or buy a new washer

Oh man that was my first.. After all of that I ended up having to replace the washer it was.. The problem Ended at being the clutch so GE no longer Carries the parts that I would need or else I would have Have tried to Replace The clutch I am sorry I don't try to do nothing come hell or high water I will find a way to do something even if I don't know how. I have to give props to Ace Hardware the vice grips that I bout on a deal they were on sale I've still got them and used them for several other things and I beat the hell out of them on that washing machine and they still work. I'm a one man band that I'm always 4 hands short of good help.. A pair good vice grips can be a good buddy to have hanging around.. We got a really good deal on the Whirlpool washing machine I had to go into yet and replace the dogs in it That washing machine was so simple that I felt stupid.. I'm never had much experience working on household appliances too much. So being disabled not much money plenty hands on my time All I got to do is try . Go ahead and get The low profile Jack that you got out in the garage and don't expect the honey to help. Don't laugh but I jist about almost died leveling it up and had it propped back adjusting the feet and it come back without warning my level on top came flying at my head and landed with a Bang. Honey never missed a commercial did not get up off the couch to see if I needed a lookout, a hand or hell....911. She's got a good life insurance policy on me somewhere and she be sorry when I'm gone..

My old hub nut was stuck on. I used WD and let it sit a day or 2. Finally it came off.

Looks like something from 2000 BC and there will be a lot more failures before there is success. I’d rather waste my time and money on the right tool and to try this shade mechanic idea.

So you used a axle u- bolt?

Why does my hub nut keep slipping off after I put a new one on? Are the new transmissiin threads wrong?
@nota_verygood_huntingchannel9 ай бұрын
Yes, they are reversed thread. Clockwise loosens, counter clockwise tightens.

I'm trying to get one off and have tried every wrench I have that will fit inside the tub. The nut is seriously stuck. I'd order the spanner wrench, but I don't think it will do it either. I tried locking pliers just like yours, but I couldn't get it tight enough. When I hit it with the hammer, it slipped off. I've used WD-40, PB Blaster and gel lubricant, and none of it has worked.

After a few years they lock on from water scale..I had a buddy to help me and we used a large tongue and groove channel locks one held the vise grips in place and the other one used the channel locks to lock it down.. it's hard to get a good swing in that tub. And after I went through all that trouble to take it apart replace the bearing hub and put it back together it turned out to be the clutch and that part is no longer available for purchase. At that point I was done with that washer. So we had a friend that had a Whirlpool washer and dryer in storage and the washer needed to have the dogs replaced on the it. I tell you this much it was a lot easier to work on that Whirlpool than it was at GE.. the vice grips was twice of what it would take to humanly lock them down if not more. There was a couple of inches a good torque that we had to put down on the the vice grips before we had enough grip to hold on.

@@Glowstixinchatt, I understand how you felt. Mine leaks at the base of the tub, so I decided I'd go ahead and replace several parts while in there because they were inexpensive and I don't want to ever do this again. I got new tub seal washer, tub bearings, dampening straps, and a new hub nut in case I damaged the other one taking it off. Then the cheap bolt on the agitator coupler broke when taking it off and the broken piece is inside the transmission shaft, so I had to order the coupler kit with a new bolt and I'm having to drill the broken bolt out of the transmission shaft. i just ordered a spanner wrench, too, to try to get the tub nut off, but at this point, I'm ready to pile all the parts inside the machine and offer it for sale just for the cost of the new parts. I worked on my old Kenmore washer several times and never had problems like this. I'll never buy another GE appliance. The GE stove that came with my house is a piece of crap, too.
Dude seriously? Ricky Bobby? What a complete Richard Cranium you must be. I bet you sit on your butt an scroll thru stuff just to berate others who work for a ..living. go back under that rock you crawled from under.....Billy...
