I really wish number 10 was a reason for me but it wasn’t. I spent my entire childhood and teenage years battling epilepsy seizures. It caused me major depression, constant suicidal thoughts, 4 brain surgeries, & nearly dying at one point. I didn’t enjoy all my single years at all but still followed god. I’m currently engaged and I hope and pray that that means he has something better for me in marriage.

Hello Ashley I too have epilepsy. I started having seizures at the age of 9 and have had 6 brain surgeries. I'm about to have another one next month. I've also struggled with Anxiety and other mental health issues. I'm still single and am looking forward to finding the one someday. Regarding point 3, the fact that, for example, if we are not ready but our future partner is, it should be a reason for changes, since we are prolonging the time affecting another person that we still do not know, we must repent of the selfishness in us and let God mold us, so that we can bring Glory to God and honor our future partner.

My wife passed away, my daughter is grown, gone, and self-sufficient, my siblings have their own families, and my parents have both passed. I dated a woman about 4 years who ended up manipulating me and pushed me to take my own life, which I nearly did. I saw her a few months ago: she’s now married with two children. Majority of the reasons here relate to me, except for the "young" part (I'm turning 35 this year 😅). The Lord certainly knows me more than I know myself. He knows that once I noticed that some guy is attracted to me, my focus would be shifted towards that and also to my self-image, etc. I will not be focused anymore to His purpose, to the things He wants me to do TODAY, while I'm still single. Why does God allow bad things to happen to good people?.... Through it all, I still have seen the hand of God in my life, reconciling me to Himself. I was living in bad sin, wanting wrong things... if you're honest, we will look at OUR part in it wanting the lusts of this world. God has been teaching me this whole time how to stand up to and against sin. How to stand for righteousness, how to persevere, how to NOT let people abuse, betray, belittle, or shame me (and so much more). In the end, I would rather live in faith in my God. HE has worked all the crap together for a good result...HE HAS!!! IS IT HARD WORK? YES!!!... So was dying on a cross for my sins! God could've stopped that, too. But for whatever reason, Jesus had to die that i might live in eternity. Once You FEEL the sorrow from God at how those people treated you... Once you've FELT His love swell in your heart, and once you FEEL the Holy Spirit Jesus left for us, teaching you how to live, act, speak into this world... Once you FEEL circumstances blessing your heart and life... You GET to know Him. The power of the resurrection. The fellowship in Jesus' suffering.... Nothing will separate me from the love I have for God in Christ Jesus. I will persevere with courage, not shrink in doubt, and despair and depression. I will go forward and look forward to heaven, trying to NOT look to the right or left at the sin that would so willingly trap me and ultimately cause me to live a life filled with meaningless s**t that will decieve me right into the pit of hell. God has saved me. I will proceed in Him. I am not ashamed. I'm also not ashamed of the hardship I've been through. God has used my suffering to bless others. Im ok with that, even though it grieves me to the core. I love my triune God in Jesus, Amen

You already have the desire to draw closer to God, so I believe this is the perfect opportunity to seek him for answers to your situation. Long distance relationships are very difficult and requires alot of intentionality to work. Devote the time to hearing from God so that you do not invest your time, energy, and heart into a relationship you are not confident you should be in. Also, be honest with your girlfriend about how you are feeling. Coming together and seeking God in prayer for your relationship would be beneficial for you both.

I feel your pain, and God answered me with this to your frustration that I share with you about God playing favorites “He doesn’t play favorites and his favorites (the saints) are in a heaven with Him.
