I think marriage is vowing to be there for someone until your old dating allows both people to not really commit it's like I want my cake but I want to eat it to. Thats well put. I was sexually abused as a child and that left me incapable of having a loving relationship so I never married. I used to think sex was no big deal and the more the better. But now that Im older I wish those things never happened because I reallly respect the institution of marriage . I would still love to be with someone Im ready since I got to know myself and to understand why I did the things I did. But Im past the age of getting married and starting a family. Although if I met someone my age and she was willing to wait I would to. Its more about deeply loving someone, Holding them , communication and respecting them .I love women and I love sex but I always wanted something deeper fron my one night stands so I was used by some women and I also used some women Very toxic. I needed love I just went about it in the wrong way. L I think all this sex we have and the focus of sex and even sexual identity nowadays makes us not see how truly beautiful love and marriage is.

Everything you're talking about makes total sense especially for me currently. I've been dating a guy for almost 2 years this February and I told him I did not want to move him just as a girlfriend but something more. I would have never thought in a million years I'd want to ever get married again but I was always told that you should date for a purpose and I want to serve the Lord properly. Being in a past divorce was hard enough for both of us in our current relationship that we have now. I love him and he loves me and I told him I want to pursue marriage not just stay dating. Our conversation about 3 weeks ago has come up again about this and it's hard for me to release and I think it is due to us not getting married. Having sex before marriage is wrong and I totally agree to that and we both want to do this right but we've done it wrong since. We both are aware we're both Christians and adults who want to do this right. Do you think this is the reason why I have a hard time and I'm struggling to feel complete after sex? I know this information is put out their public hopefully this can help the next person. As a female in my first marriage I could be completely comfortable and have my release during sex and now I'm so in love and wanting to pursue with this man and it's a struggle to feel fulfilled afterwards. He's not doing anything wrong technically we both are but in everything that we are doing maybe this is why I cannot feel complete after and we are trying to make this work since I have moved in a year ago. A friend of mine recommended that I should move out right before marriage, somebody said to sleep in another room until we do. It's really hard for both of us and we want to do this right. Do you believe that this is why I'm struggling personally and how we can go about this? Thank you for your podcast I absolutely love hearing them and blessings to you.

After my marriage failed I was not saved. I literally gave myself away for a few years. I had several meaningless encounters that really damaged my heart. This is just my understanding through prayer. Im not saying anyone take my path, thats always a decision that should be handled in prayer but here it is: I was in am a divorcee as well and survivor of abuse. I didn't become a Christian until well after my divorce. I wasn't a member of the kingdom of God and quite honestly, a union not joined by the body of Christ by being part of the body of Christ isn't even recognized by Christ. This is why many couples renew their vows if they are married before they are believers. Nothing goes to the Father before Jesus. The name Jesus isnt even acknowledged in most wedding vows. If we aren't committing ourselves in His name, we have made no commitment to the kingdom of God. ◄ 2 Corinthians 5:17 ► Parallel Verses King James Version Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. I am divorcee in the world, not The Kingdom for i am a new creation in Christ

I have studied the subject of divorce and remarriage for 14 years since my husband divorced me, and the Lord was constantly telling me to fight the divorce and to stay faithful to my vows. Basically people like to look for exceptions, but there is no allowance for remarriage as long as your first spouse is still alive. 1 Corinthians 7:11 (from the Lord) says that the woman can leave but she is to stay single or else be reconciled to her husband and the husband is not to divorce your wife. I have a playlist of over 80 videos about divorce and remarriage adultery. God makes the marriage permanent until death. This why God hates divorce, and we are in a covenant to create godly offspring. Remarriage is Adultery Unless? (dead) is a great book by David Pawson and is a top video on my playlist. I have gone against people's advice to obey God as a covenant keeper for over 10 years of being divorced. There are a lot of us who are doing the same things to obey God's Word and Jesus in Mark 10 and Luke 16. God bless.

I dont know your story but i know that God doesn't want divorce but allows it if a spouse is abusive, unfaithful, and not willing to follow Christ. There are many scriptures written that are taken out of context. For example, the one about women not speaking in the church. Does that mean Pastoral women are bad? No. God calls men and women. He doesn't see us as men, women, etc but as souls. He calls men but if they dont obey and women are willing then God opens the door for us. Either way, i hope you will pray about God's will for your life.

Real love is self-sacrificing. You want the highest good for the other person and it develops through the practice of the virtue of chastity. You're willing to get to know the other person and love them for their own sake not for how they may make you feel. The initial passion that happens when you fall in love is great but it resides on the emotional and sensual plane. To go deeper, there must be a permanent commitment between two people in such a way that it reflects how God loves us in a permanent, exclusive, committed and fruitful way. When you practice chastity, respect for self and the other grows. I really wish more people understood that.

I stopped this at 13:30. I wish to express a perspective; but, am leary of inadaquately presenting it; so, please don't assume that your interpretation of the following is what I intended to convey. Marriage is a commitment to each other before God. There's the human institution or ritual of marriage that has historically accompanied it. In this case the woman has experienced that deficiency of it's veneration. There may exist a commitment between her and the guy, before God, to each other that suffices for the relationship to be seen as marriage "in the eyes of God (which is what, really, matters)." Going through the ritual can amount to no more than inconvenience and subjugation to unjust legal oversight (government meddling). That the divorce rate is so high "in these days," I feel that it's not, really, expressive of God's glory anyway. I agree on the matter of remarriage. Otherwise, how is there a closure of the previous- marrital- status?
@bondbond6116 жыл бұрын
That's how I see it as well, when Adam and Eve were brought together by God, there was no ritual thing or others to approve it like we are doing nowadays, I've nv been so certain that God has brought us together and we are committed to each other before God as husband and wife, from God's point of view, are we only become husband and wife after we have performed a wedding ceremony or when we committed to each other before Him?

Are Christian men okay with waiting until marriage to have sex? Also, how do you know if you're sexually compatible?
@amore62066 жыл бұрын
Recently, on a dating site, I found one. It was like a phenomenon reading his proclamation that "He will not have sex before marriage". I read it in wonder and almost excitement and reverently. Like wow, I have never seen it. Just went on an outing with a childhood friend. We had a church in common that I left on really bad terms. At dinner he actually said, to some of my thoughts on the bible, that I probably took it too literal. Hmph. Wow. He then continued suggesting, sex happens. He's "in the faith". If there are men ok with waiting, and I keep hearing and seeing various testimonies of some that do, they are an enigma.

I used to think it was sinful in God's eyes, but my views are beginning to shift based on the world around me. Celibacy, virginity and chastity are non-existent among Christians, even for those who have never left the faith. Christians are lying about the importance saving themselves for marriage, they do not believe it, nor do they practice it. If that was the case, most Christians would be virgins when they got married. I have come to realize, by not having sex before marriage you will be loosing out on gaining experience necessary to please your mate. In today's Christian world, if you marry as a virgin and your partner is not you will be a disadvantage. Every time you have sex with you non-virgin mate, they will constantly comparing your sexual performance to the previous sexual encounters they had with other people. This will be demeaning and humiliating experience for the inexperienced partner. If you try it out before marriage, both parties can decide if they like the sex enough to stay together or go find other people. No humiliation, no sexual frustration to deal with. I'm not saying that I am going to run out and start bed-hopping, but If i find a willing partner, I am not going to hold back either... Its just not worth the wait.
@slimdude2011 Жыл бұрын
The Bible is very blatant about fornication that it's a sin, and there is no justification, the same for any other sin. So therefore, it shouldn't be a debate. When God say something is a sin, then it's sin. You can choose to follow the world of sinfulness and try to fit into society if you want, but you will only be deceiving yourself, especially if you're willfully sinning without repentance, and know God's word. God's word is forever, and it doesn't change.

Mark, I really like you channel, but I hope you have adjusted you few on Divorce and remarriage! Remarriage: God only allows remarriage when the spouse dies. (Now to the married I command, yet not I but the Lord: A wife is not to depart from her husband. But even if she does depart, let her remain unmarried or be reconciled to her husband. And a husband is not to divorce his wife. I Corinthians 7:10-11 NKJV) and again later on, (A wife is bound by law as long as her husband lives; but if her husband dies, she is at liberty to be married to whom she wishes, only in the Lord. I Corinthians 7:39 NKJV) To me it is as clear as daylight, that remarriage is only allowed in case of death. Otherwise it will be adultery. Cause for God a husband and wife are joined together, and remain that way until death do part them. Divorce: You got straight to the exception. But in Greek you see a different word used their. Porneia instead of moichatai. It's used for fornication, pre-marital sex. The case in Matthew is that Matthew wrote his gospel for the Jews and so for Their customs. Just like the case with Jesus's (human) parents. To be betrothed back then, was different than it is in our time. Why divorce, in my opinion, isn't allowed by adultery as well is seen at the response of His disciples. (His disciples said to Him, “If such is the case of the man with his wife, it is better not to marry.” Matthew 19:10 NKJV) Why would they react that way if they could divorce for adultery? Its more likely it's not allowed. Furthermore, the only reason people would divorce is of their hardened heart! Divorce always originates out of hate, cause love is seeking the best for the other. (I'm not saying that by abuse or ongoing adultery you need to suck it up. You could than separate for a time.) I believe we should focus on what God does and follow His example. He never "divorced" His people, and we cheated alot on Him! He always forgave us and accepted us back. Just like Jesus and the church (same marriage like) Jesus will never abandon us, though the church is living an adulterous life. What God joined together let not man(kind) separate. I can say boldly that people who want to divorce not know the grace of God. My wive cheated 2 times in the last year and wants to divorce me. I still love her (through Gods love and Grace) and dont want to divorce. Cause I have encountered His grace. But if we divorce, I will not search for another or start dating. Cause the bible isn't allowing it.

I don't think you should expect to agree perfectly with everyone. This is an issue with a lot of different views. Here's my views: applygodsword.com/what-does-the-bible-say-about-divorce-and-remarriage/

It's not about agreeing with everyone. It's how God tell us in the bible. You should never make an argument based on 1 bible verse. As long as only one bible verse doesn't agree with your statement or contradicts it, it is wrong. Gods Word is very clear, only hard to accept for many. Especially in this age where divorce and adultery and remarriage is so easy. We should not be conformed to the world, but keep our eyes on God. And if God says in His word you shall not remarry as long as your spouse lives, we should not do that, how hard it may seems. Don't search for answer people will like, be true, that's what people need.. If you live an adulterous live (1 Corinthians 6:9-10) you won't enter Heaven. Would you be willing to lose heaven over living an adulterous life (according to the bible, if you remarry if your spouse is alive)?

I think there's even more to it. I got married and my husband divorced me many years before becoming a christian. I've been divorced for 18 years and he married someone else. Is he still my spouse? Has he ever been? Or should I consider my spouse the first boy I had sex with, as a teenager? Adam and Eve never went through a ceremony. I'm just glad God hasn't presented me with anyone I want to marry all these years, and I pray he doesn't until I can figure it all out.

I dnt think dating for 8 years is wrong. there maybe very practicl reasons to wait that long example my sister was 19 when she met her husband , and he 21, They were in college and didn't have money to start a family... so they waited for practical reasons to marry ( she got through medical school and her husband through Law school) then they got jobs and then married... they dated nine years for purely practical reasons they married. I disagree about just marrying to have sex. good heavens just think if you married the first person you had sexual feelings for that would be unwise and you only knew them 3 months.. there has to be more to it( spiritually compatible, testing character, and being friends I think is best first)

The way this is being presented in church, people are more inclined to marry for sex than not. I think it's horrific. Being raised Pentecostal, while I gained I think some of a good foundation, I find myself doubting and disagreeing with many of the ways taught within the sect. I wonder if the foundation was good at all. Religion ruined my life in a sense, but God is helping and healing me thru it, is my sentiment today. My logic as a young woman, sadly having received no real balanced information on this subject except that in order for me to experience sex, I needed to be married first. While I get there should be order, the focus was more on what I could not do. This created a very unhealthy view of sex. IT'S FORRRRBIDDEN!!!!! That is all. This has been the approach. Is that really all? Just don't do it. Huh? Sadly, I am a product of a marriage from that perspective. I am divorced and for the most part have been desiring to marry again. Lately, I'm having second thoughts, because again, being raised as a Christian, I had begun to wonder if the only reason I want to marry is to have sex. That's ridiculous. Perhaps I don't really mind being single after all. I'm having all of these thoughts here recently, and it's alarming. Better now I can suppose than waking up next to someone for the next many years, for the wrong reason or simply because I don't truly want it. How can a true and right judgement really be made apart from being able to distinguish your true motive? How can you really distinguish your true motive if , well...if (now here, it seems I'm promoting sex, but that's not the heart of it) How can you determine if you are making an unbiased decision to marry apart from sex if you haven't had sex? This has been my personal test recently. I am in prayer about this even now. You would be surprised at the number of people driven to marry primarily because they've been "deprived" of having sex in a spiritual legal sense. "Spiritual Law". Almost an oxymoron in the sense that Christ teaches. We are free from The Law...in the biblical sense.

Please don't get me wrong, but as far as I understood, in case of your sister, the very motive for her to wait untill marriage was money and not love... Do you think it's right to prioritize money over love and eventually suppress somebodys feelings for that reason?

Nope, absolutely no mention of it in the Bible.
