I missed out on an opportunity with a great guy because of my fear of risk and debilitating fear (low self-esteem). I hope (if God permits) that He will give me another opportunity with someone else and that He will use my past experiences for it. In Jesus's Name.

@@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger Thanks for the video. Unfortunately I'm standing still because of severe OCD (among others). I want to take steps but they're small steps and not enough, I have lived in isolation for almost 5 years and I can't take it anymore. Yes these are problems but I think I can be a good loving spouse (not to be proud, but in all honesty) and I crave intimacy. Can you do a video about mental illneses regarding to relationships? I know they can work, sometimes with professional help. When earlier in my life I was in an (unfortunately sinful) relationship the OCD was also intense but the support of my partner helped. Now it's extreme. I also was in therapy for years but unfortunately that doesn't always help to get rid of OCD. Also, I have things to offer I think, it's not that I'm looking for a caretaker, but for a Biblical relationship, where if one falls the other helps him/her up and vice versa. There are many people with bagage and psychological problems..these weakneses can also be our strengths because it can increase ones empathic abilities

This was sooo helpful! I'm 39, been single as a pringle😅 for the past 10 years and I think I fell into the wrong kind of "contentment in God". I AM absolutely content in God no matter what comes, but I am NOT content remaining single, so this has helped me to relieve myself of any guilt that comes with earnestly desiring relationship/marriage🙏🏾

I've been in the "attention" boat, so to speak. I have failed it many times, but through those failures I learned to at least try to be discerning. I've been becoming more contented in Jesus even in my want for a relationship. I've failed the test of unmet expectations many times. However, I have been trying to find the good in my hardship of singleness. I've passed the test of risk before. I can pass it again. It's a repeating test. I have a fear of the unknown, but not to the point of not doing anything at all.

Much of what God does with people including relationships is a matter of 'ready or not' not ready. There are tests of faith in general, scripturally, but nothing scripturally so specific to romance. Many marriages occur not because people took risks but because people played it safe.

HAHAHAAAA!! I am single as a Pringle and I detest it. but this is showing me that I'm not sure if anyone I know (in & outside of my church) is even into me that I know, because I don't think anyone has come up to me and "put on the charm" and tried to show me that they like me like that. However, I'm also autistic and have had a history of being bullied and betrayed. I am PETRIFIED of putting myself out there! Especially when I don't know if I have a 'crush' on anyone and DEFINITELY DON'T even have a clue if any guy I currently know at church or work likes me like that. And what about dating someone who is equally yoked? I don't really want to date outside of my church. Art least at church, I know I'll find someone who's a Christian on some level, and I won't have to convert them. Not that I'm not willing to if I really love them, it's just not what I would prefer at the moment, at least.
@LorenaTerryArtist5 күн бұрын
I don't know if I'll EVER Be ready! I can't pass the "resist" test cause nobody has "turned on their charm" or advances (that I've noticed, at least) and shown me they like me. No guy goes out of their way to compliment me or flirt with me that I've noticed, and it's kinda depressing. I feel like my heart will never be ready for romance, what with major trust issues from 10 years of bullying & at least 3-4 betrayals. 😢😢😢 PLEEAAASE pray for (and with) me!! 🙏🏻🙏🏻😢😢

See but this is where I feel like I get trapped. So I live in a state/city that is very secular and non-religious and every time I think I meet a man of God who is Christian, they end up not being a believer. I think about moving all the time. I have been single for 6 years now, my last relationship was with someone who wasn't a believer. He was a great guy but we didn't get far because of our different beliefs. When I get married and have kids it is super important to me that we both are equally yoked. I am content with being single, but I also want to be married one day. I am not a girl who needs male validation or male attention, but wants a complementary relationship. I grew up having 2 married parents who were both believers and had a super healthy marriage and relationship (until my dad passed away). I get so confused because I want to find someone who is equally yoked like me, but i never seem to find any here where i live....

I'm not sure about the last one. Whenever I meet someone new, I like to pray to God to give me signs if he is the one for me. And if not, I will ask God to remove him from my life asap. I did not do this earlier and ended up in the wrong relationships with the wrong people. Always be patient and wait for God's answer before committing to someone emotionally or physically. So from now on, I'm putting my trust in God and staying obedient for a sign to proceed. I believe some signs that God wants to remove that person would be if they constantly disappoint you or not meet your needs or hurt you. When someone is from God, they will never leave you no matter the circumstances. Nothing can prevent what God has for us.
@ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger5 күн бұрын
I get what you're saying, but I think you're asking for a sign too far into the future. Perhaps ask for signs about the next steps that would be closer, like talking more or going on a date. You're jumping from zero to 100. I think there's room in between to see what steps need to be taken :) Just something to consider :)
@lsmith96953 күн бұрын
Lamentations 3 : 25…I feel it’s best to wait for signs from God as well. This shows God that we trust Him and are relying on Him to lead us. The Bible speaks a lot about those who wait on the Lord. If it’s something God wants us to pursue or have, I believe He will make it clear. It will happen. I prefer to wait on a green light from God because I always make the wrong choice when I listen to myself regarding men. That’s what I’ve learned, personally. To ask God and then wait for Him to reveal the answer.

So if we walk forward with God in faith, where is the risk? Can there really be “risk” with God? Even when Paul’s life was threatened, God always warned him in advance and assured him he would get to Rome. It was Paul’s faith and obedience that made his following the Lord “not risky” though it may look that way to us. Perhaps predestination plays a role in this.

Idk what to say We're not all the same and God knows that God can reveal in any way who your spouse will be God cares about your future and he knows our weaknesses And by the way he can work the best ,he will do it For some people ,they found the right person,started to talk and God confirmed that relationship is on His will For others that by their biological system are kinds shy peolple ,God can reveal the right person for them in a different way And etcetera God doesn't have some fixed standards for all of us He is wise and know how to make a way to happiness for all of us All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose: Romans 8:28.
