Applying for Empadronamiento in Barcelona

After settling into our rented apartment, we went for an appointment with the municipal council to register for our empadronamiento, or also known as padròn. It's a document that registers where someone live in Spain and with whom. With that, we are finally residing in Barcelona!

Hello, the form would be available on your municipal's website (to download). Otherwise, you could make an appointment at the Town Hall of the municipal to enquire about the process. They could print the form and you could complete them on the spot. Remember the rest of the documentations too!

Don't you need the DELE A2 and above qualification as well?

Hello Shawn, I suppose that is required for the Spanish citizenship? The empadronamiento is generally for anyone who lives/resides in Spain. 😀

@@kenwooitv ah, I might have gotten that mixed up. I thought that was for residency. I thought they had the requirement so that residents could demonstrate their ability to communicate.
