I followed that rule on a cracking day in the Vosges and thought I was safe until the two cloud streets over my head started to merge and my vario went crazy. That day I found out that even an A glider can lock into a stable spiral.. fun times.

I also thought that would only happen with C and Ds =D the lines hissing that high pitch tone makes you think about all the wrong choices you made in life !

You're living the dream there I'm just wondering where I would throw out the cornstarch when I get up there and I can apply the 45 degree rule to the cloud. Great video. They say if you actually get in a cloud, and you can't see you should just fly level and try to sniff the air. If there's another pilot in that cloud with you there's a good chance he's filled his pants just like you did.

Nice video mate :) What direction you choose to escape the cloud? upwind or downwind? or is not important... Thanks

A really strong thermal is usually able to block the meteo wind (let us forget for now about the 50+ km/h winds in Brazil where they fly 500+ km routes, it's a different story). So there's not much difference in which direction to escape - choose the shortest way towards the cloud edge.

Very helpful, thanks! Talking about paragliding books, which one is your favorite so far?

Thanks for watching! I don't have any favorite paragliding books tbh. I've read some, but from all of them, I liked some parts and took another parts with a grain if salt.
