Applying Vinyl into a Deep Channel

Many commercial wraps include difficult applications over and around deep channels. This video shows the ideal technique for installing vinyl into channels. Instead of a straw (go greener) you also can use of liner you removed from the vinyl you installing. Just roll it tight to the tube and tuck it in. It won't stick to vinyl that much as a plastic straw. You are welcome :)

i tried to wrap my 3" cowl hood and failed miserably because i stretched it to much and it ripped 100$ 3m carbon dnoc in the trash!

You shouldn't need to stretch the vinyl when doing the hood of a car apart from on the edges

Thank you. I used this method and had great luck in the dips but I continued getting bubbles and wrinkles in the flat are that I heated. Is there a way to avoid that?

You never got an answer or help, that sucks! I think bubbles are always going to be there no matter what you do or what product you use. Sometimes they are worse than others it seems. I know that using heat gun after finishing a section to help seal the edges good often causes bubbles to suddenly show up near the heated edges. I am new to this Wrap game and have only wrapped my SUV at this point.

why do you need to heat it if your laying cold vinyl anyways

The only people who need to stretch it are those who don't know what they are doing. Fact! Heat is only needed if you have creases, defects from handling the vinyl and for post heating the edges so they stick real good. You never need heat just to lay the vinyl down and get it into position. Never!
