The wax coating definitely gives a nice soft sheen and brings the surface to life. I recently waxed three terracotta pieces but then also brushed on powdered graphite, which gives an amazing bronze like finish.

I haven't tried waxing white clay. But you might want to consider mixing in some dye to the wax.The good thing with this brown wax is its already got a tone to it.

Could you also use a hot air gun somewhere along the way ( before or after) ?
