Put her on my Udemy English Language course if she likes appositives. She will learn about grammatical nuances that she will never learn in English classes at school, nuances which enrich your writing, your speaking, and even your thinking. To think is to speak, and if complex thought cultivates your language, then complex language does indeed cultivate your thought. Cogito Ergo Sum. Link to join the course under the video. Only £13.99 for lifetime membership, and lots of nuances on this course that are not on my KZbin channel. I save the good stuff for the courses. Only the junk goes on KZbin!

Join my Udemy courses if you want more. I’m taking down a lot of old KZbin videos, and moving my platform to Udemy. KZbin made me angry when they banned me for reading the side effects that are written on the Johnson and Johnson Convid 💉 . Thou shalt not read the adverse reactions! Not on PharmaTube. Hope you can read this, as the Pharma bots might have auto deleted it

hey mrskypelesson could u make a video on how to diagram appositives?? Please I would be glad if u could

It's appropriate to substitute the appositive phrase with ellipses since the phrase is not necessary for the clause, right? Thanks for the video :D

If we remove comma from an absolute phrase, is it still an absolute phrase in sentence number 3?

Why can't books explain this topiс as clear as you do. I've come across multiple grammar books in Russia failing to explain every aspect of appositives and logic behind their grammar. Thank you. However, can 2nd comma be added in A great scientist, Isaac Newton, was born in Christmas Day? Or is it just incorrect?

Ephel Duath, I think it’s possible to write that, but in most contexts it wouldn’t be what you wanted to say. The same goes for ‘Isaac Newton, a great scientist, was born on Christmas Day.’ It’s correct in certain contexts. I’d say that it sounds as though you are talking to someone who has never heard of Isaac Newton’s being a great scientist before, so you are introducing this fact for the first time.
