Back in the day, when I purchased my first home to live-in; that was Miami in the early 1990s, first mortgages with rates of 8 to 9% and 9% to 10% were typical. People will have to accept the possibility that we won't ever return to 3%. If sellers must sell, home prices will have to decline, and lower evaluations will follow. Pretty sure I'm not alone in my chain of thoughts.

I advise you to invest in stocks to balance out your real estate, Even the worst recessions offer wonderful buying opportunities in the markets if you're cautious. If anything, it'll get worse. Very soon, affordable housing will no longer be affordable. So anything anyone want to do, I will advise they do it now because the prices today will look like dips tomorrow. Until the Fed clamps down even further, I think we're going to see hysteria due to rampant inflation. You can't halfway rip the band-aid off.

@@Shane-zx4ps me too half Italian too my Daddy was from Brooklyn! And we had a vintage British and Italian motorcycle shop my brother worked at Dudleys, Ghost snd Cycle city before our shop. He road raced a 750 Duc . Was good too. We still have bikes for sale, box stock. Mostly Italian left but some Indian parts and some really old English bikes a few whole, need restoration. One trophy restored 70’s . Hope Jay reads this! Spokey restored it. The rest of English bikes went back to the UK. They are supposed to come back for their 9th time for more . Getting a kick out of returning them to the UK. Would love to see Jay get some. My brother would be proud if he did.

I have met Mr. Leno and he said call him Jay. We were showing my 69 Buick Riviera at a car show. He came and admired it. He was dressed in jeans and his trade mark chambray shirt, with a grease stain on it! A great down to earth guy, who admired my car!!!!!. Made my day

Jay Leno stayed off drugs, and was never in a scandal or the Tabloids. Jay wisely put every Tonight Show check into savings for a rainy day. Jay lived off his stand-up comedy routine all those years while the Tonight Show salary was invested wisely and grew substantially until Jay finally retired and started to spend his fortune on the things he liked. When you buy a Mansion on the East Coast it's less taxes and half the price of California. I do think that when Jay and Mavis pass the Mansion will be donated for Historical Preservation of the "gilded age" in America history.

One time during an audience interaction part of his show at his normal comedy club that he attends in Huntington Beach, California he said something in a story about our small hometown in Illinois- Galesburg. It's the kind of house that doesn't show up on Zillow, you have to inquire separately. In this case he literally knocked on the door, the homeowner was not there, but one of the staff answered and got in contact with the owner.

@@MsPinkwolf Yup. The Newport homes built in the Gilded Age were mostly fake French chateaux or fake Italian palazzi. This is a house built to take advantage of its spectacular location. A really big house, finished beautifully. But basically comfortable. The contents are fine, interesting art - not by the most famous artists. People could actually sit in those couches and chairs. They are not gilt encrusted European antiques.

An old friend of mine sold a classic Dodge muscle car to Jay Leno. Leno invited him to his famous “Jay Leno’s” garage in L.A. My friend was blown away by the collection, and about how down to earth Leno was. My friend has passed, but the story is special. RIP Robert.

I read somewhere that in all those years Jay hosted the Tonight Show, he never spent a dime of his income from the show. The combination of a lively sense of humor (understatement) and such a humble and likable personality...this is Jay Leno.

He says funny stuff every week on Jay Leno's Garage. I think the funniest thing he's said in recent years was when he was showing his 1955 Buick Roadmaster, opened the massive trunk, and said, "A family of five used to live in here."

A local undertaker was visiting Great Britain with his wife. She commented that she loved a Summer Home there. He somehow obtained the plans for that home and built it. I suspected he had an ulterior motive, when I found the operatory and the crematorium. The three story house had a service elevator, underground parking for four limousines , a performing arts hall and a chapel. I helped install the elevator and serviced it for many years. His wife would play the pipe organ or one of the three Steinway pianos thru the house. Her singing was like unto a angels. I became friends with both, and miss them greatly.
