I am truly thankful for the work y’all do at the Discovery Institute. The impact you make through your research and dissemination of information is extreme helpful in the understanding of our world, and to the understanding of our purpose.

The continuously increasing amount of the discernment of the amazing complexity/harmony of these biological systems is so edifying!!!! Psalm 139:14; Romans 1:20.

I'm a retired 3D CAD designer. 3D structures are done using polar and Cartesian coordinates on the computer. They require intelligence on a very complex level to produce. From the energy running into my home, to the power being reduced so it doesn't blow out my computer's hardware, to the development of the hardware in a specific manor on purpose for a desired outcome, to the programming of all that hardware then right down to the intelligence creating and designing the 3D structures in imaginary space. Then print out the designs on paper for a purpose to recreate in the real world. Would you claim the drawing with the 3D model on it is not evidence a creator was behind the design? No. Everything in the real world is designed in a similar complex process that can only be answered if there is an intelligent designer behind everything.

100 - DS needs to include some actual designers & creators for deeper perspective conversations...dr poythress would understand that the rock & the shell is itself designed, from the beginning

Nice angle. Then there is all the functionality required to grow into that design from a single cell, to function in all types of environments, last for 70 years and co-ordinate with the brain to move and function correctly. But it just happened randomly by natural selection in a relatively short span of time.

Great lecture! I love Vern Poythress. Also, see Alvin Plantinga's chapter on Intelligent Design in his book Where the Conflict Really Lies. Plantinga interacts with design arguments via William Paley and Michael Behe (eg arguments for design from analogy, abductive arguments for design). Perhaps surprisingly for some, Plantinga argues against several arguments for design, or at least is skeptical of them, but Plantinga then argues for a different kind of argument for design, one which is very Plantingian, albeit in line with fellow philosophers Del Ratzsch and Thomas Reid.

My one question, since today's science classes are guided by the materialist concept/evolution theory; What should science go by in regards to a curriculum or hypothesis to go off of for the Creator of the universe; Would directed panspermia not be enough considering the hypothesis closes with "other civilizations planted microorganisms" and became the universe? I've heard a physicist speak of how "Judean Physics completely align with science." I'm just not sure what that would be exactly.

Something designed requires conscious intelligence. Forget Darwin, who did his work when science was in its feeble beginnings when the "big picture" was not yet formed. Of course, all life forms were designed, some more successful than others. Not only life forms were designed, but the whole universe is a fantastic construction designed to fulfill functions. Gravity enables stars to form. Fusion in stars create the elements that are then distributed in space through super-nova. Why would you need 102 different elements in space if not to form in planets where life can thrive? Two things prove intelligent design: Statistics and the second law of thermodynamics which describes entropy. When you understand both concepts, you understand why complexity cannot form by chance.

I have always viewed Darwin as profoundly dishonest and in the final analysis, thoroughly self-deceptive. As an Englishman his prose comes across in weasel words and slippery nuances.

Beautiful. Professor, please take a look at Taylor Marshall and Scott Hahn videos. "Not as common bread or as common drink do we receive these.....We have been taught that the food that has been Eucharistised by the word of prayer, that food which by assimilation nourishes our flesh and blood, is the flesh and blood of the incarnate Jesus." [not a symbol - please look up Eucharistic Miracles] St Justin Martyr (100 - 165)
