I don't see the real issue with Sue's nosebleeds. With the others powers, their limitations can be conveyed in "Reed's being stretched out" or "Ben isn't strong enough". I do think Johnny less so is shown in the limitations of his powers, though I think his attitude could be suggested to be his limitation, in how he uses them, but I don't think that's so much a physical limitation. With Sue, her powers are based in the use of her mind, so her limitations that are shown physically I think make sense with the nosebleed. The scene with the ferris wheel or whatever, I think, as far as I remember shows them all struggle in that scene in one way or another. Johnny moreso due to incompetence. To my memory, Ben and Sue are shown in their struggle to hold it. I also think Sue wanting a normal life can make sense, if she wants to have a family. I think she even tells Reed that building the machine was the right thing to do.

The Tim Story "Fantastic Four" movies were really fun and entertaining. They weren't the best written but they were atleast enjoyable. However, I can't say the same for the 1994 version or Fant4stic(2015). I literally fell asleep watching Fant4stic.

A maybe unpopular opinion: I really wish they kept Doug Jones' voice as the Silver Surfer. Not only because the director didn't tell him he was going to be dubbed over, so bringing in Lawrence Fishburne at the last minute to replace all his hard work was a real asshole move, but I genuinely think his voice would have fit better. Even before I knew that the Surfer was played by two actors, the voice coming out of his mouth felt really jarring. I felt it didn't fit his face or his body. I get that Fishburne's voice is iconic, but in this case, they could have conveyed the same power and majesty by just letting Jones use his soothing tenor. People remember him as the guy in the monster suits so much that they forget that he is actually a great actor

It's like it happened in Hellboy, Doug Jones talked about it in Michael Rosenbaum's podcast a few months ago, since then he now has a contractual requirement that his voice won't be dubbed over. And that's great because it allows him to be more part of the characters he plays, as he's usually behind a lot of makeup.

@@alim.9801 It happened only twice thankfully, for Helboy and for Rise of the Silver Surfer. At least in Helboy he was told about it and it was more of a choice from producers, as Guillermo tried to keep Doug's performance but producers wanted to put the other actor's name too for some reason. But after Silver Surfer he directly said "I don't want this to happen ever again". And that's why for Helboy 2 he actually voices Abe.

thats why im more excited for kang dynasty, theres a lot more build up to it because the movie is about kangs variants which were teased in loki (and eventually antman quantumania) plus kang has left clues all over phase 4. i would be more hyped for secret wars if they were actually hyping up the multiverse instead of using it as an excuse to milk cameos and nostalgia. no way home did it right but multiverse of madness was ehhh. but thats not to say im not excited at all, it would still be really cool to see characters from different universes fighting together its just that im worried that the movie will be all fan service and have a half baked execution. you can have cameos and a great story at the same time. on the bright side marvel has been working on shows that take place in different universes such as what if, loki, zombies, and x-men '97. on top of that sony has been making a cinematic universe of their own which is exciting. im hoping secret wars connects all these universes established and doesn't just make entirely new ones out of nowhere. so the multiverse has been mistreated as of now but i think the next few years will crank it to its full potential although im still cautious

The interesting thing about Galactus in the FF movie is that you could still see his silhouette behind the clouds, which is possible that they considered doing the comic look, but they decided to scrap it since it probably could've looked silly or they did last minute changes. Doom's suit in the sequel also looks closer to his comic suit, but instead of the golden circles being on top of the cape, it's a part of the chest plate. It seems to be a mix between the Ultimate and the 616 designs.

Interestingly, I recently learnt from an interview on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum, that Doug Jones was so pissed off at being dubbed over as the Silver surfer and one other time (Hellboy, I think), it’s now in all his contracts that they can’t dub over him. The original trailer for Silver Surfer still has Doug’s voice in it (brief clip of him saying “all that you know, is at an end”), they should of stuck with him as it worked just as well, not that I mind the Fishburne dub.

Yea Hellboy came first and Guillermo del Toro couldn't change the producers minds about the dubbing over, he however did manage to keep Doug's voice for Hellboy 2, but the Silver Surfer stuff was done so poorly that he clearly felt upset about it (his voice really would've worked for Silver Surfer btw) and now he has the requirement you mention about not replacing his voice in post.

I hope Miles Teller gets to redeem himself in the MCU becoming The Maker, as his version was also based on Ultimate Reed Richards and shares some of his defects. Even the team gets their powers due to Reed's egotistical desire for recognition, so I can imagine him losing his girlfriend and friends, as well as his whole world, and becoming paranoid, alienated and ruthless about it. In the film it's said many times that Reed's teleportation experiments could have destroyed the world, and 838 Doctor Strange was executed due to the accidental genocide of an unknown universe in an incursion, perhaps both ideas could be reused to introduce The Maker as the Reed Richards of that lost universe, after having contact with corrupted Stephen Strange whose powers went wild in there and ended up ruining everything.

I first realized that this was a one-to-one recreation of Ultimate Reed dropping the mic on Ultimate Nick Fury back in 2018 when I was in 9th grade and started reading the Earth-1610 in preparation for Secret Wars but I'm so irritated that no one else seems to notice. @@martinchuma same, while I didn't like the movie much or his cameo seeing him at first did put a slight smile on my face but what they did with him erased it immediately. Also I don't understand the overt disdain for John Krasinski as Mr Fantastic in this video as opposed to being fine with Miles Teller who to me, I have no problem with as an actor or anything, doesn't fit my view of Reed Richards even a young one. Also unclear if it was sarcasm or not with his delivery, hard for me to tell.

Seeing him smirk at Doctor Strange's joke, be the most humble person there along with Charles Xavier was just great to me. Seeing a wise and experienced Reed Richards, who's already had two children trying to appeal to Wanda as a parent was so great to me, but people disregard it for him getting ripped to shreds.

The MCU Fantastic Four movie in my opinion needs to be a pure adventure movie as they are explorers that get involved with superhero shenanigans and the villain should be Mole Man, with the movie having them traveling to and exploring Subterranea having to face off against Mole Man.

3:02 I think you just hit on a principle that seems so lacking in modern film (and television and other media, really) reviews/response: just because a thing isn't "the best" or breaking a ton of new ground or exactly what you wanted it to be, that doesn't mean it's bad. Things can be just okay and pretty entertaining as such. There seems to be such a push nowadays for people to act as if a thing is either the Best Thing Ever or Worst Thing Ever (credit to the Weekly Planet for hitting on that, I suppose) with little room for anything in between, ignoring the things that work (or really work) to focus on what is often subjective or minor issues. I've felt like FFV has tipped into that issue from time to time, but it has always felt like that came about honestly (rather than played up for the lulz/views): sometimes you just can't get past a certain aspect of a thing and so you're soured on all of it, or sometimes you're in the wrong mood for a certain thing so it hits badly and it taints your feelings about it for some time. That's not a fault of a person, it's just the way brains can work and how art affects people. Lord knows it's happened to me before for just episodes of a show (where I might re-watch it a bit down the line and realize "oh, that wasn't as bad as I remembered, not sure why I reviled it so") or for a whole series or movie. Anyway, that was a slightly longer rant than that minor point necessitated, so I do want to add that I appreciate this video. Thanks, Full Fat Videos! -I didn't mind the *idea* of Krasinski as Reed Richards, but wasn't really that wowed by him in MoM, though I do appreciate that the writing let him be more than just self/science-absorbed Reed and he tried to reach out to Wanda on an emotional level. Reed might not always think to do that, but it's nice to acknowledge that he is a person who can try to appeal to the humanity of others and relate to them on that level. I hope the comments that Krasinski's casting was just a one-off stunt are accurate (I've seen some fantastic and very interesting fancasting, such as by Nando v. Movies), but I'm willing to give him another shot, I guess. -I sadly have to disagree on some aspects of the practical effects and costuming for the Tim Story FF1: that Thing vs. Doom scene in particularly looks like very bad wire work and set destruction, while Thing's costume always looked too plastic rather than rock (the sheen was one issue), one advantage the Fant4stic Thing look did have over others (though even Corman's looked...more rock-like within its conditions). My primary problems with the film is that it always felt cheap, both looking and (in some case), acting-wise - almost like they were trying to simply make a new version of the Corman film, not deliver a FF blockbuster. It always bugged me, as it felt like such a step back from the other Marvel superhero films at that time (Raimi Spidey & the X-Men films)

They're competency with the use of their power comes from both the time and the fact they're military trained and studied in a controlled environment. I'll give you my top Fantastic Four movie now. My favorite is the 2005/07 movies with Chris Evans (Captain America), the ever-wonderful Jessica Alba (Dark Angel), and Michael Chiklis (The Shield), Reed Richards actor. I hope the new one is good, but I'm not holding my breath. Please, Marvel, don't screw it up. 2005/07 needs some competition.

Phase 4 should have started with the Fantastic Four and been the new leads (new Stark) for the Multiverse Saga. Could have already been anticipating the 2nd movie by now. This is one of the biggest oversights for the franchise
