What the sorcerer’s apprentice was this? The acting was good and is what held me but the storyline itself left many question marks. For Billy to lose his parents, his freedom for five years, and almost his life all in the name of a human witch doctor, not God himself was just crazy. Kudos to the production staff that handled the scenery that took me to 1927-rural times.👍🏾🙂

It is typical of horror movies that there are a host of unexplained phenomena, which the viewer just has to suspend disbelief in order to appreciate the tale. "True crime", by contrast, cannot make use of unexplained phenomena, by virtue of the genre. Everything has to be explained. So, for example in a Poirot mystery, the ending ties all the loose ends together. I'm not through with this movie, but I can say with confidence it isn't "true crime" outing. Every scene brings another inexplicable event forward, and the movie just won't be able to wrap all these mysteries up at the end.
