1:27 The instructions that came with mine, says to mount he set screw facing down, so that the bracket has two of it's holding tabs facing up, and one facing down (for better support). It's also easier to tighten the mount with that set screw facing downward.

The instruction on my box list 4 steps. None of the literature within the visual steps elaborates on screw/pad position, but the screw/swivel unit is definitely facing upward in the picture as it's being pushed into the cd entrance, as per the video.

I think it works best with a smaller pad/larger phone. Make sure it's tight.
