Have the P2121 code, bought a APPS to replace, and just before I did the replacement I found your KZbin video. So when I did the reset on my 2004.5 5.9L Cummins I didn't disconnect the batteries. It worked! the engine light is off and it's working.

My truck is a second gen.. but I was told if you're apps is going out, clean all the. Components and spray liberally with WD 40.. long story short I have had an apps sensor going out, and spraying it a with WD got my truck working for 6 more months. Then it started doing it again and i sprayed it all again and got another 6 months! Not sure why it works, but it does!

That’s why I still like the cable driven throttles the TPS is cheap to replace it’s just a little wheel sensor that turns with the throttle and sends electrical signals back to the computer. Electric throttles do the same thing except when they act up you gotta replace the whole thing instead of a cheap sensor

@jordanrowan25376 жыл бұрын
I had 2003 5.9L when it did that it’s was the TPS failing. Sometimes I’d be doing 70MPH down the high way and the throttle would cut out I’d press the clutch in cut the key off give around 5 seconds for the engine to die then dump the clutch and cut the key on and it would be working again

2005 Ford F750 dump truck w/Cummins 5.9l, Allison automatic. Red “Stop Engine” light illuminates and engine goes into limp mode. Turn truck off for 2 minutes, then starts and runs good until it goes into limp mode again. Researched causes: coolant or oil levels low”, but mine are good. Cummins can’t find the problem. No codes. Any ideas?

I have a problem with my 04 5.9 Cummings where I can be driving down the road and all of a sudden lose complete throttle response the truck doesn't die but my truck will not rev up but if I turn it on and off enough times and slam down on the throttle a lot most of the time I can get it to bring the throttle back but it seems to only happen when I first start up the truck for the day after I start it up and I get the throttle pedal working again it'll run the rest of the day with no problem any advice please I beg of anyone

I saw your second video where you did have to replace the APPS. Did everything work out OK and is it still running good? My 2003 Dodge 2500 is starting to get the "dead petal" periodically after it has set overnight and I'm getting the same codes.Once it wanms up after running 10 to 15 minutes, it seems to run OK. Either my ApPS is going out, or there is a short in one of the sensor wires.

I get this same issue on my 04 Gen III.. Not very consistent. Can go days without out it messing up. My programmer shows APP % on the display,. Works fine then boom 0% and the pedal goes deal. It drops it out of overdrive and will allow you to find a spot the pedal works in but if you hold it there it gradually increases speed until youre forced to let off the pedal and coast. Then, sometimes, it goes back to working all on its own. I dont mind spending the 200 bucks on the sensor of that is the problem(250k miles) but I would hate it to be a connection problem or something that gives a false flag on the sensor. How what ended up fixing yours?

I’m watching this bc I’ve run out of options and ideas on my 2006 f150. Same shit. It would go a year without issue then boom I’d get no pedal and my edge programmer would say app or throttle position sensor. I’ve since replaced it 5 times with the last one being from ford themselves. Same shit.

I had the same problem you did, I had no response coming from my sensor. "Dead Pedal" affect is what they call it, get yourself a new sensor. I paid 400 bucks for mine off of thoroughbred diesel.com and it was the worst mistake I could have done. Don't go to their website they sent me a faulty sensor.

Everything just gets less reliable. I thought I got away from all the electronic stuff with my 95 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel, but no, I think it all started in 95 dealing with Torque Converter lock up tearing into the wiring & sensors, ridiculous. And your problem in the old days should really only be a cable, but as technology forever advances seems to be more of a setback. Dodge couldn't give me a new truck... well actually they could but I'd just take it straight to the scrap yard with the FORDs.
@johnnylaw2983 Жыл бұрын
Lol fords have like twice the electrical components in those years compared to dodge Your problem was the sisy automatic transmission because if you would of had a manual transmission all the 12 valve needs to run is one 12 volt wire that’s it so ide say that’s pretty simple electrical

A friend of mine had the same problem on a 2008 Dodge Avenger we couldn't figure what it was we ended up cleaning out the throttle body it didn't work we put it on a diagnostic machine it read a misfire on 1 cylinder so we changed the spark plugs and that particular coilpack that misfired... It didn't work so we checked the fuel pump it had sand in it so we replaced the fuel pump and that didn't work...So we drained all the gas cleaned out the gas tank changed the fuel injectors blew out the fuel lines and finally it worked like a charm....6 months later the car started doing the exact same thing all over....When trash get in your fuel system the computer on this car will give you incorrect codes....
@jb09157 жыл бұрын
it's probably the ignition control igniter module my Buick did that after 750 later it was the last thing to try and changing gas and cleaning it out and all that temporarily fixed it then it would do it again since I changed the igniter module IDK if your car has one but it's the thing the coil packs sit on I changed that and never again did I have that issue

I’ve got an 08 ram 6.7 and the pedal was intermittently malfunctioning. I bought one from Napa then one from O Reilly’s both the same and incompatible w/ truck. . It seems the part number 53034004AB has been changed to now end with an E rather than a B . I’ll buy the part from the dealer but it definitely works the other ones were dead pedals to begin with showed no voltage on any scanners

@@seanclark9472 Hey Sean, I have the same intermittent issue with my 08 2500 Ram. Did you buy the Mopar 53034004AE pedal sensor and did it fix the problem?
@thesetruths14043 жыл бұрын
Maybe you know the answer to this unique issue I have on my 2005 Dodge Ram 5.9 Cummins automatic w/overdrive transmission? 196,000 miles. It's the original transmission and motor. All fluids/oils and filters regularly changed and kept clean/new. Not used to tow often...4-5 times a year at most and 8,000 lb loads at most. I've asked 4 tranny shops and a few forums and Facebook groups but no luck finding same problem or proper fix. I'm wondering if I'm just that special?!?? Lol One mild Fall day last year I had driven 260 miles on interstate at about 75-80 mph. It began slowly reducing speed over 6 miles from 80 to 15mph. Moving fuel pedal would not do anything but make it stumble a little a couple dozen RPMs up or down. Stopping and restarting it immediately did not help nor did changing gears manually. All fluids were fine, not too hot and no burning of anything fluid or conduit wire was observed. All looked good under and above it. I stopped it for 30 minutes as I checked it over. It would drive normally after that, but it would only go 25-30 miles before it would slowly slow down again as described above. I did this over many cycles all the way home 260 miles. I'd turn it off and on again, completely off as it rested for 25 minutes. The batteries seemed to be getting charged (started well each time) and no warning lights were on. Once or twice, when I drove it until it would not even crawl anymore (1-2 mph, I was testing it), it stalled. So it wasn't hard starting or hard-stalling unless I took it all the way down to 1-2 mph speed. It was not idling weird either. Could this be an electrical ground failure or electronic issue? If I had a battery connection loose or anything disrupting the flow could it cause this? It seems like something is getting tired and needing to cool down or something but nothing was overly hot or smoking. What's weird to me is it's not slipping in the usual way of revving up but not moving. It would usually get no lower than idle. Tranny shops haven't heard of this before. No transmission codes either. They want to charge me $3,000+ for new or rebuilt tranny. I want to rule out wiring and electronics (that don't throw codes) first. Any suggestions? Heard of this ever before for an automatic transmission? Thanks!
@pierreandrews12792 жыл бұрын
Did you check the wiring from the speed sensor up near the transmission oil cooler? That was my problem 🤬 They try to sell me a transmission
@thesetruths14042 жыл бұрын
@@pierreandrews1279 I did not. I think they scammed me. I don't think my tranny was bad. I think it was the wiring and/or a ground. It could have even been a clogged fuel filter because I changed that also. But, $3,100 later and 4 trips back for leaking pan and here I am without any issues. Lol
