It definitely has that feel that all the other hotels that group owns (Bearskin, The Lodge at 5 Oaks and the Old Creek Lodge) has, but the room seems to be the smallest of the bunch. I wonder if that's because it used to be a Marriott Branded hotel (Farifield Inn if I remember correctly)? Anyway it's cool they give you the parking pass! We really enjoy Flapjacks, and Davy Crockett Mini-Golf is our favorite mini-golf too! Glad you checked it out :-). Thanks Bob and Miranda!

I wouldn't have a hard time recommending it... but I don't know if I would personally stay there again. I'd rather be in the action of Gatlinburg, or in Pigeon Forge.

@@SmokiesPlus yeah I get that for sure. Ease of getting around is key, and that place isn’t the easiest to do things especially when traffic gets crazy in Gatlinburg!

@@SmokiesPlus Oh I've been going since the 90s. It's my happy place. I have been there probably 100 times. (The Smokies that is). I go back to the Appy lodge because of the decor and location.

I thought about staying there every time I played mini golf in front of it. The parking deck is a nice one where you get the parking pass. I still not sure if I every will stay there.

The rooms were surprisingly small, but the place was nice enough.

Wow the parking pass is a plus for sure!!! We stayed there when it was Fairfield. Not a bad place to stay. The putt putt is a plus along with Flapjacks!!

Thanks for the review. We have wanted to stay there, but, did not want to have to walk to Gatlinburg or drive and pay parking. So the heads up that they give you a parking pass really helps to reconsider staying there.

The parking pass was a difference maker to me. I think I would have hated walking into Gatlinburg from there.

Yeah, you definitely have to weigh location. There's no walking out of your hotel right into the downtown.

This looks like a pretty nice place. I like the little shop they have instead of vending machines. Having a laundry room is always nice, you never know when you might need it, especially with kids.

We just got back from the Great Smoky Mountains. We actually booked this hotel. The hotel is absolutely beautiful on the outside. I was very disappointed when we checked out the room. Our room smelled like mildew. We left within 20 minutes of checking in. We were excited to try a different hotel in Gatlinburg. We typically stay at the same hotels in Pigeon Forge we know that are very clean or a cabin in Wears Valley. I appreciate all your honest reviews.

Thought you might want to hear from the viewers side how your videos help. I'm coming down to next weekend so after doing my research and checking prices this hotel was the one I was going to book. I then go to KZbin type in the hotel name and your video comes up someone whose opinion I can trust from watching your other stuff. It's priced well and will be good enough for just me and my cousin. I'm eager to check out its kind of unique location to downtown Gatlinburg, hiking and pigeon forge.

@@SmokiesPlus I booked Saturday and Sunday then will head home later on Monday. Since it’s weekend before Memorial Day that should help with crowd. I’m use to crowds when going so that doesn’t really bother me.

Interesting aspect to consider, staying in Gatlinburg, but not being downtown. 🤔 I saw one other review of that place and the people had a problem with the bright lights from the Putt-Putt staying on all night long and shining in their room.

Never had any issue with lights personally, but I know some people are super sensitive to any lights while sleeping.

Great review guys. The only thing that turned me off was the continuous sound of traffic during your review. That sound takes away from the reason for visiting the Smoky Mountains - natural beauty not the sound of NYC 😂 Keep up the great videos and stay safe!

Davy Crockett. Hillbilly is unique and nostalgic, but I really didn't love it. It is definitely worth playing at least once.
