I don't know much about long-arm quilting so i would like to ask...what happened on that sewing at the end when there was loose thread? I think I saw that 2 other times in this video!

Its a practice quilt, I'm sure she isn't worried about that. Could be tension.

+Ann Philbeck thanks but I was wondering what has caused it...hoping to learn something...

It could be the bobbin tension too loose.. because the bobbin thread is your upper thread .There are a lot of videos on tension. Helen Goddard on youtube explains it best. google tension issues and she will come up Jamie Wallen does a great one as well.

Is this all free hand or is the machine doing it? I don't know how you would free hand a paisley design and have them all so perfect, or any design for that matter. Are any of the APQS machines automatic?

In this particular video it is free hand. She is moving the machine to make those designs. There are additional programs and computers that you can add to a long arm machine that will allow you to program a design in and it will sew it automated without you having to move the machine at all. But yes, to answer your question she is doing it freehand. It takes a lot of practice.
