Great update, look forward to seeing more and hopefully you've sorted your derailment issue

Hoping the fiddle yard is working for next month, took a long time to plan and get mine working throughout with all the different rolling stock

Just to re-echo what has been said below - I too thought I had bad track but once started checking back-to-back wheel measurements realized the problem was not the track but the very variable tolerances coming from various manufacturers. Once a wheel gauge was used it has improved things no end.

Did you weather the network rail box wagons yourself if so how did you do it? Stay safe man! Some kind words nice from you - to see people getting behind each other.

Shame to hear you’re having an issue with the wagons - they work well with my 68

Hi I enjoyed the update and I sympathise in respect of track relaying as I had to do some of that myself...……..Cheers Kev

I sympathise, we’ve all been there. On my previous N gauge there was one area that I could not get right regardless if what I did. May I make a suggestion? Ive noticed you pin your track. Could there have been occasions where the pins have distorted sleepers and altered the track gauge which would cause derailments or are the offending points allowed to move even slightly? Which could equally cause issues. Otherwise may I SUGGEST gluing the track with heavy weights on top. Hoping you get to the bottom of it whatever solutions you employ.

Hi John - Thanks for your post. I've pinned it in the fiddle yard but glued it in the scenic area as it looks better, particularly with the concrete sleepers. If i'm being honest, i think it was more a case of me just not doing a very good job of the fiddle yard - i've literally just completed it and (touch wood) everything seems to be behaving, so far....

Great video, sorry to hear you've had a problem with your track work. I've had a few issues myself and it's very frustrating. Station looks great. Cheers Paul 👍

Thanks Paul - yeah its a pain but i'd rather take the medicine and get it right now rather than get frustrated over time with poor running etc.

Hi... Good video - Track testing is a nightmare ! I model modern image and have found that majority of Hornby/Bachmann stock will only work satisfactorily with 3rd/4th radius track and have you checked the back to back settings on your stock ? I spent months testing my sidings/fiddle yard with the most fickle of my stocks as I operate hands free magnet uncoupling with kadees. Now doing a major re-model, so I know what you're going through....Good luck with the rest of the work... Stay safe... Regards Nigel at West Hatton Model Railway
