8:27 is where the whole paragraph was omitted. And these words were exactly what I was hoping to hear him saying, when he talks about debate and criticism favored by Greek lawmaker Solon. Here is the missing part: "...For I have complete confidence in the response and dedication of our citizens whenever they are fully informed. I not only could not stifle controversy among your readers--I welcome it. This Administration intends to be candid about its errors; for as a wise man once said: "An error does not become a mistake until you refuse to correct it." We intend to accept full responsibility for our errors; and we expect you to point them out when we miss them. Without debate, without criticism, no Administration and no country can succeed - and no republic can survive. That is why the Athenian lawmaker Solon decreed it a crime for any citizen to shrink from controversy. And no official of my Administration, whether his rank is high or low, civilian or military, should interpret my words here tonight as an excuse to censor the news, to stifle dissent, to cover up our mistakes or to withhold from the press and the public the facts they deserve to know. But I do ask every publisher, every editor, and every newsman in the nation to reexamine his own standards, and to recognize the nature of our country's peril. In time of war, the government and the press have customarily joined in an effort based largely on self-discipline, to prevent unauthorized disclosures to the enemy. In time of "clear and present danger," the courts have held that even the privileged rights of the First Amendment must yield to the public's need for national security. Today no war has been declared--and however fierce the struggle may be, it may never be declared in the traditional fashion. Our way of life is under attack. Those who make themselves our enemy are advancing around the globe. The survival of our friends is in danger. And yet no war has been declared, no borders have been crossed by marching troops, no missiles have been fired. If the press is awaiting a declaration of war before it imposes the self-discipline of combat conditions, then I can only say that no war ever posed a greater threat to our security. If you are awaiting a finding of "clear and present danger," then I can only say that the danger has never been more clear and its presence has never been more imminent. It requires a change in outlook, a change in tactics, a change in missions--by the government, by the people, by every businessman or labor leader, and by every newspaper. For we are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless conspiracy that relies primarily on covert means for expanding its sphere of influence--on infiltration instead of invasion, on subversion instead of elections, on intimidation instead of free choice, on guerrillas by night instead of armies by day. It is a system which has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations. A little known fact about JFK's life is he was in San Francisco for the 1945 conference that begat the United Nations. He was at the time not a government dignitary by rather a reporter for the New York Journal American. The conference was held at SF's opera house and for a while it looked like the Presidio would be the home of the new organization, the crucible of what is called "globalism" today. When JFK uses the "C" word " "We are opposed around the world by a monolithic and ruthless CONSPIRACY" ..."It is a system that has conscripted vast human and material resources into the building of a tightly knit, highly efficient machine that combines military, diplomatic, intelligence, economic, scientific and political operations." it seems evident he is talking about the UN and its desire for a "world government." While JFK mentions how secrecy is "repugnant in a free and open society" contrast his words with David Rockefeller's whose family bowing to pressure from the Russians facilitated the new organization having its home in NYC instead of SF. From his autobiography: | "We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promises of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subject to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But, the work is now much more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a World Government.The supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries" ....just say no to the NWO.

Kennedy was speaking as a president with a specific foreign policy. The new threat was the Soviet Union which was expanding it's borders- Berlin Wall went up in 1961, technologically advanced and Stalins' reign had been vicious. Kennedy was a big believer in the Domino theory. Kennedy saber rattled and plotted assassinations against Castro & likely S.Viet Nam's Ngô Đình Diệm. The "Guerillas by night etc.." part was referring to the spread of communist ideology in SE Asia- Viet Nam, Cambodia.etc...Not about big banker elites. This has nothing to do with Rockefeller & globalists now altho we can speculate JFK was vying for the west to win on tech & the battle for natural resources long term. That's still the same. He said a lot of things about the repugnancy of secrecy by choking the press for the audience of the day. But if you listen closely he was really asking the press to stifle its voice for "national security reasons".

The speech was right after the bay of pigs debacle, where the US was basically thwarted by its own citizens, which is why the speech is called “The president and the press”. The context is asking the press to be more considerate of what they release because they are in a Cold War with an enemy who, in contrast, has complete secrecy and control of its media.

All of JFKS speeches were videotaped . Unfortunately, in those days many were considered the days news and since video can be erased and reused, many were. Had he not been assassinated, the Ft. Worth speech, his final, more than likely would have been erased.
