It has it's place. It's a tool for some horses, but I agree that for many you don't need it. However, for those that do want to use it, at least it's good to understand how it works and how to put it on and adjust it. I did run across a horse that did need it for about 3 rides. After that he was good and we moved on.

You drop and lower the head by riding correctly. These are unnecessary. Beginners should NEVER use draw reins (nor should anyone else for that matter)!

In the video I explain that correct riding is paramount, but once in a while you come across something that needs this for a short time. German martingales are different from draw reins. I will never put them on any horse.
