As a completely blind horseback rider, your detailed descriptions were very informative and helped me a lot. Thank you very much.
@micahgrauel87704 жыл бұрын
Iris Hammond thank you. I love horses so damn much. When it comes to riding, I love riding bareback. The reason is because you feel everything that horse does. You feel every respiration as their lungs expand and contract. Every muscle movement. Every twitch. Every shake. Every step. You really feel it when they ascend and descend hills. People have the misconception in their heads that the most important part of a blind person’s perception is their hearing. This is not true. When it comes to working withhorses, the most important thing I can pay attention to is what I feel.
@micahgrauel87704 жыл бұрын
Iris Hammond oh. Sorry to hear that. Maybe you could have someone train your horse to get used to people riding bareback? It’s just a thought.
@micahgrauel87704 жыл бұрын
Iris Hammond you’re welcome. You may have to try and find a trainer, but there’s no pressure. I was just thinking of a solution. Enjoy living that ranch life as much as I do.

Hey everyone if you want to get a horse but it’s too hard don’t worry you’ll get there , hold on to your dreams and make it happen because trust me anything is possible.And I can tell most people that are watching this might want a horse and yes I’ve been waiting for years (literally) I have been riding since I was four, now I’m 11 and I’m still not there yet ,but I won’t give up,I will work hard get a good job and save up when I’m older. By the way I’m not doing this for likes I just want you to remember that that your dreams aren’t impossible x. Edit: thank you soo much for the likes I never thought I get this much!

@Doodahdoodles4 жыл бұрын
I thought that too, been riding since I was 4. Horse obsessed. But as soon as you get older and school/college/university gets in the way you realise you don’t have as much time as you thought you would. My parents aren’t horsey either so they couldn’t join me in my enthusiasm. As soon as you have to pay for bills and living yourself there’s often no money left for horses. I have a good job too. Not saying to give up on your dreams but don’t feel like you’ve failed if you don’t achieve it and get one of your own. There’s still lots of ways to ride frequently and you’d be surprised how many people need a hand exercising their horses. This is a cheaper option for you too.

He's going to the paddock tomorrow, and I really hope he doesn't get one more. I've been visiting him tree times a day these past few weeks, giving him extra hay, putting his hoof in soap water (that was a really hard fight) and really just makring sure he's ok. @maccifyme8 жыл бұрын
Very informative video and you are explaining it all really good and clear! However, I do disagree with a couple of things. First is I think your saddle is a little too far forwards, the girth could irritate the horses elbow and the saddle is tilted a little bit backwards. This could also be because the fit of the saddle isn't right for the horse, but I'm guessing since you're an experienced rider you probably know that the saddle fits you and your horse. The other thing is that from what I've always learned, you tighten the bridle too much. The idea isn't to force your horse to keep its mouth shut, but rather as a guideline. Anyways, cute horse and so well behaved!
@charli.h34438 жыл бұрын
I think the strap over the bit was looser than it looked because it looked like it could have tightened 1 or 2 holes if she wanted to
@mortmort977 жыл бұрын

Clair, I’ve always wanted a horse ever since I was little. Every year since I was 4 on my Christmas list I would put a horse and all the horse equipment they need. I’m quite poor and we don’t own any spare land. I’ve sold a lot of my old things for money to save up for a horse. But it’s never enough. My friend has stables and I’ve asked her if we get a horse if we could store him/her there. She had not responded yet tho. If you have any tips to save up or how to train a horse please tell me. I do go riding as well 💖💕
@glueyslimey83335 жыл бұрын

It’s not everything is payed for once you get it I have a horse myself and costs are very high I really recommend waiting till your older please don’t get a horse if you can’t afford it

The most expensive part is feeding, vet bills, ect. after you have bought the horse not the actual price
@sm0lfish9805 жыл бұрын
Even if your friend let you, you'd still have to pay for food which is super expensive (around 200$-250$ a month), vet bills (up to 15,000$), insurance (300$ per year?), tack (About 1000$ to begin with) and a farrier (Say 150$ every 8 weeks.) You must be prepared. And think about the downs, like what you'll do on vacation? What if your horse gets colic? Don't just jump right into stuff..
@heliosfromacrossastar8784 жыл бұрын
PepperMint A horse is very expensive, yes. I never got one either and we were not poor. But I am glad now, because horses are a lot of work for a long time. Have you thought about offering horse owners to take care of their horse? Sometimes horse owners can’t ride for a while or as often as they like to. In my country, they sometimes looked for girls or boys to take care of their horses and ride them (if they were old and experienced enough). Also we used to hang out at our riding school and do free labour a lot so we could hang out with horses. Those might be alternatives that give you a chance to interact with horses outside riding lessons.

This was really useful for me, I’ve been riding for 2 years but only at a riding school so I’ve never learnt to tack up. It’s just the bridle that confuses me still (I’ve all ready had to watch this 5 times 😂)

I am advanced trail rider ,pole bender and barrel racer.i haven’t had very much experience in anything but a western/ranch saddle. I have always dealt like a goof posting. But the English saddle is so much faster to put on and so light. That’s great for me as I’m getting older (37) my abs,back. And knees hurt more then they did in the past. And my recover time is SAD. Lol Just got a nice soft. Anyway,I’m rambling! all I wanted to say this was a great video I learned a ton. Tanks

Loved your trick used for bridling the horse. I always found as a short guy that doing it the traditional way required more of my height than was there. Nicely done!!!

I am a beginner rider and confused on what types of saddles there are
@melissalaplant8764 жыл бұрын
Kavyn Blatchford Ok,so I am a horse back rider and typically there are western and English saddles that go with western and English riding.
@rushellealexandra52434 жыл бұрын
Also there's Australian saddles, Mexican vaquero style saddles, sidesaddles , saddleseat types with cut out whither area, Spanish style ones, and other less common native traditional types, and race horse ones are really small pad like and flat
@rushellealexandra52434 жыл бұрын
