I own the BS4 R3 for 5 years now. I paid 3.96 L OTR in Chennai and in 2018 it was expensive for me compared to the localized Ninja300. I have clocked 80000 kms and it only broke down 2 times. Once was my fault because I didn't check the battery and other was a switch issue at around 70000 kms. That's what you pay for - Reliability. Until and unless you own a R3, you will not understand and value this point. I mostly tour on the R3. Most owners in India use it as a sports tourer and that's why reliability is super important. I have taken the bike to remote places without any fear. A quick point on service costs - general service is between 3500 - 4500 ₹. It's an easy bike to work upon by yourself. Bike's design is very smart. Takes literally 10 minutes to change air filter. In some bikes it may take up to 40 minutes. Getting major parts takes time because it's imported from Indonesia. Loved this video! Cheers AutoX team!

Last month, I picked up the N500 here in Bangalore. After owning the 2017R3 and the Versys 650, I knew I had to stick with the Japanese big four for their unbeatable reliability and extensive service network. One thing that often gets overlooked in reviews is the fantastic network of Kawasaki riders across India. These guys are all over WhatsApp, Telegram, and other chat groups, and they really enhance your biking experience. It's not just about the bike itself; it's about the community. Whether you need breakdown assistance, route advice, or just want to connect with fellow riders, this network has got your back, making every ride more enjoyable and stress-free. Now, about Aprilia-sure, their performance and specs are tempting, but they still have to prove themselves when it comes to reliability and quality. It’s easy to get dazzled by the numbers, but I'm sticking with a brand that I know won’t let me down.
@shivank_bhatt7 ай бұрын
True, when you’re spending that kind of money, peace of mind comes first. Riding a motorcycle hard & fast over a weekend is one thing, living with it for years is another. Only time will tell if Aprilia can match the Japanese manufacturers in this area, but we are hopeful…🤞🏽

Nice review and covered most of the relevant points. Appreciate the fact that you took pains to show us the headlight illumination in night - These kind of things are difficult to know - as most reviews don't cover it and a simple test ride won't tell u these things. I had BS4 Yamaha R3 - that came with Metzeler tyres and dual channel ABS. It was indeed an epic bike - I would enjoy it most on wide open highways where it could easily cruise between 140-150kmph whenever conditions permitted that and it was super fun doing that on R3. The exhaust note was addictive.The thing I missed on R3 was the lack of low end grunt. I switched to BMC air filter and that improved low end to some extent but still not to the point of satisfaction. the biggest advantage of both Aprilia and Ninja 500 over R3 is that they pack a lot of grunt even at low RPMs compared to R3.

@shivank_bhatt7 ай бұрын
My bad on the Thailand/Indonesia thing. Apologies for that. We didn’t include fuel efficiency in the video because we don’t think it’s a deal breaker for any of these bikes, and it was more or less the same for all. If you want numbers, the Yamaha returned around 28km/l, Kawasaki around 25km/l & Aprilia 23km/l. The Aprilia was ridden the hardest of the three though & it also has the smallest tank.

Good to watch a video without bias to see comparisons. Many of us are biased. Have Ninja 400. Tend to stick with Kawasaki, and the Ninja has 40 years, and the 1st to produce the smaller bore sporty entry level bikes. Typical of Kawasaki, they're raw. Run forever, powerhouse motors, but Kawasaki is not concerned with creature comforts and has odd styling, lol. Have several Kawasaki's. Kids had little KX dirtbikes, and race Kawasaki ATV's and have had several models. So I'm biased and just stick to what I know, what I know how to work on, and know that Kawasaki is simply minded on parts. I.e., rear Master Cylinder and reservoir is the same from 1978 to current, for dirt or street. Kawasaki Ninja is super comfortable to ride whether in town, through some twisty's, or out on the highway, but.... The seat sucks on the other hand. Kawasaki.... Lol.

Hi people I really need help, So i have a dominar 400 for my usual daily commute and weekend rides that happen once every 2 months. And i really want to get a sports bike. But the issue is when will i even use it, as for trips dominar really is comfortable along with pillion or luggage. I really like rs457 but I can’t take it on my trips and even i wouldn’t use it in city cause that would be a wasted potential. So the question is should i listen to my heart and go for it, or just take a smaller sports bike like a r15 and use it in city and keep dominar for trips. I really fancy the idea of a sports bike and even had cbr650r in my mind but i am not able to find a use case as my dominar really is covering a hell lot of ground(i hate and love it for that). I really thought it would be easy to just get what you like, well seems the maturing up is getting to me. Any suggestions are welcome Thankyou.
@shivank_bhatt7 ай бұрын
Pick the Aprilia if you want full sports bike experience, it’s manageable in the city and occasional weekend rides. But if you want more comfort, the Ninja 500 is the better bet. R15 would feel underpowered compared to the Dominar. The CBR650R is a good option, too, but you won’t find a used bike easily, and even if you do it won’t come cheap. Better to buy new.
