Nicholas, to replace the pads in the rear calipers, would i need to pull the caliper off the bike? and do I tap out the safety pin that contains the spring?

I didn't -- but I was super impressed with the OEM pads on the track

it is not necessary to remove the brake calipers the pads come out without dismantling them

you are correct! but it's awfully hard to push the pistons back with the calipers mounted ;)

The idea is to clean the pistons and push the them back easiliy without damaging enything else
