I remember this video. This is what convinced me to get a 2014 model ... which I had ... for about 3000kms. Beaut sounding exhaust.

To answer David Bransky I am loving the DD1200. The big twin is loads of fun and while i do miss the V4 the DD more than makes up for that in its desire to wheelie, turning speed humps into jumps and the ability to launch over anything you might have get in your way. Its a very strong 1200 twin. Its not up with with the SuperDuke 1290R, but it is certainly quick and unreal when the road gets tight and bumpy.

v4r is the best sounding bike hands down. i have a speedy with the low boy racing exhaust and it sounds awesome but still like the v4r better

Status on your Dorsoduro? I'm in Los Angeles, had the 04 Tuono and miss the twins dearly. Salivating over the DD1200 and wanted to know if you got one, how are you liking it? Cheers!

I never had a single issue with the bike and i rode it every single day. Never dropped it, never took it to the track. Its really an awesome bike. I wish i could have kept it and still got the Dorsoduro....that Tuono sound is like angels singing.

140km before the fuel light comes on. I hope you mean miles. I get about 240km on 2012 ZX10R before the light comes on if I baby it. I cant decide tuono or ktm 1290, but I leaning to the tuono. what do you think please help
@AD690smcr10 жыл бұрын
No i mean 140km. Sure if you were cruising or doing hwy riding you would get further....but all my riding is either twisty roads or riding to and from work where you use the throttle a lot. I test rode the KTM and it is a very fun bike, but i think the fact that it doesn't have a quick shifter really lets it down. The KTM vtwin vibrates a fair bit if you compare it to the Aprilia 1200 vtwin. It makes great power, but for me the Tuono V4 is hands down the best engine on earth. The power is AMAZING but above that the sound and you quick shift at high RPM is soooooo addictive. The KTM felt like it understeered a bit through corners and other people who have rode it gave the same feedback. The Tuono handles like a real superbike. I would buy a 1290 if being a hoon was my number 1 goal. If i wanted to get the best bike...i would get the Tuono. It is simply the best performance street fighter.

did you ever have any mechanical or electrical issues with the bike
@AD690smcr10 жыл бұрын
never any issues at all. Super reliable.
@John271010 жыл бұрын
Quick question. Did long first gear made any problems in very tight turns uphill...?
@AD690smcr10 жыл бұрын
Not at all. Just slip the clutch a bit and you are fine. Also worth noting that the V4 is super strong everywhere in the rev range so it will pull hard even just above 3000rpm
@tngchinghwa9 жыл бұрын
Adrian Donald it actually pulls really hard at about 6000

Reliability?
@AD690smcr10 жыл бұрын
I never had any issues. The only sorta problem is the when using the standard fuel map with the exhaust you occasionally would have trouble restarting straight after turning off the engine...or stalling. I got the factory race map loaded that comes with the akrapovic system from Aprilia and that issue disappeared. Never had any mechanical issues in 30,000km

Do you do servicing at home? I only take my bikes for major services/bigger jobs. And if so, do you need special tools specific to Aprilia?
@AD690smcr10 жыл бұрын
I always got the servicing done my the Aprilia dealer. So i can't answer about specific tools required.

Thanks Adrian! You've helped heaps. I might add this bike to my collection.

umm, umm, umm, umm, umm..... haha just messing with you, but seriously, you should work on using "umm" throughout the video - it's VERY distracting & takes away from the quality of the clip. just some constructive criticism. ;)

watched up to 1.30 and couldnt put up with any more "ums"!
