I was just thinking, watching this, mind blown, of the day April told us, she quit her job. Was that very long ago? I don't know. As someone else pointed out, she's the only person saying 2020 was a wonderful year(we all need more of that). Just so well done April. You are one of my favorite teachers.

I remember her having to go into her neighbors shop to borrow his bandsaw and planner!!! Very good job April, one of the videos that motivated me was the extra time you took to weld on every post again because you didn’t like the way it laid out when you cut them. Looked a lot better after the extra time and effort

So I have to ponder...how many years before that shop turns a profit? Even shops that have been around a long time don't spend that kind of money on equipment. Not being negative just trying to figure out how can I do that.

As a woman who knows how to use most tools, grew up on a farm and even was a mentor for a robotics team, I literally cried when I saw that table saw! I love to see everyone succeed but to see you realize a dream as a female in a not so female friendly profession is so nice. My daughter (grown woman now) knows how to do most of the same things I do and her dad was behind her all the way also. Congratulations, prayers and good luck!

Oh April! I am so proud of you! I think you & I started our woodworking journey at the same time back in 2014. I do not have a business built out of it but I sure have done fun remodels on my house, built some great furniture & cabinets for my family and helped a lot of charities, all watching your KZbin videos. I am a 65 year old Grandma but so glad I learned so much about woodworking. Never too old to learn! I wish you the very best!

When you showed the band saws I recalled a KZbinr I am following that is rebuilding a 108 year old sailing yacht. He used a giant band saw to shape the ribs. It is called a ship saw and the angle of the blade can be changed as he is cutting. He also uses a number of hand tools to make the parts. Check out Tally Ho Boat Restoration.

My uncles machine shop, was laid out now it takes a lot of time and energy to move equipment around and my uncle was known as the move it man. Its good you found someone who knows how to set up a shop for good work flow. Id have someone make me a jib crain to handle material movement in the shop. That and a fork truck. For logs a clamp truck used by the printing industry to lift and move logs. Put stick on sand paper on the clamps or anti skid tape. These are made to move big rolls of paper. A large jib crain on an I beam down the center of the shop that way moving slabs won't require a fork truck all the time in and around the machine's. 1 ton should do it but electric. Also a swing boom. I know these are used in machine shops to move metal, but they work with any media.

I know that dedication and hard work can go a long way towards achieving what you have, but it also takes money...something I don't have, nor can I obtain. Some of the things that I want to do require some of the tools you have such as the CNC 4X8 machines. I guess what I am trying to say in a nutshell is that I realize what it takes to get to where you are now, and I am so very happy for you!!! You hung in there and made it happen! Stay Safe, Stay Healthy, and Stay Happy!!! Keep that World's Most Beautiful Smile going!!! It is awesome how I have seen you grow and gain so much experience and fans. From making bins for your screws to starting your own huge business. Good job and good luck in the future.

I have been following you since the start in your tiny garage. I enjoyed how you made do with what you had as I have been doing the same too. Here you are with this huge successful endeavor which is so amazing. True American know how and grit.

@@AprilWilkerson LOL you have great ideas. A year and a half ago I saw the drawers you added under your bench. The ones with what I called dog ears to hold the drawer in place. Well I took that idea and made drawers just like under my shelves in the garage. Work like a charm. Keep up the ideas, now I am watching the goings on in The Wood Shed too.

I see all these shops on KZbin, mine was never that spotless from the time it was built. I obiviously need lessons in organization and clean up. Really nice setup. Good luck and best wishes for the future.
