@smokeyeyes Apsara is a sankrit word means beautiful,gental,and skilful woman who can dance beautifully, or can refer to beautiful angel. Apsara dance has its root in india, but Indian dance and khmer look totally different since khmer created their own styles and costumes, since before 6th century this dance was introduced to Khmer, they performed the dance only for the king or during religious ceremony, not for public. Until Angkor era the dance became so popular with new creative styles, dance move , and beatiful costumes, during Jayavarman 7 there were 3000 dancers in the court, untill 14-15th century when khmer fully collapse, Siam seized 2000 dancers to their land and perform for their king , and they started to learn the dance , practice, and give a bit change to the dancers's costumes, or maybe some dance gestures. Untill 19th-20th century, Khmer queen started the idea of recreating the Apsara dance by making her daughter the first Apsara main dancer in Cambodia.Untill now 21th century became khmer Trational Royal ballet. ** during Angdoung era:the remained Khmer dance masters and Thai dance masters kinda exchanged their art knowledge and learned some parts of dance from each other so that during 19th century khmer-thai style look abit the same, afterward the dance was reformed to 100% original khmer style until now.

@jivajivit6502Ай бұрын
It was choreographed with sections from a series of classical sacred ritual and secular courtly dances in the 60s. It tells the story of an ancient myth recorded on Baksei Chamkrong, a 10th century temple in Angkor. An apsara by the name of Mera was sent from heaven by the god Shiva to marry a hindu rishi or sage by the name of Kambu-svyambhuv. Their union created the nation of Cambodia or Kambujadesa in sanskrit.

Yet the historical records and evidence are very clear that Kambojadesa and Srok Khmer existed centuries before Thiefland. We have the receipts, records, hand gestures, bend fingers on Khmer temples centuries before Thais migrated from China in the 13th to 15th centuries.
