Investigative journalist (and Psych for Sore Mind friend) Andrew Gold recently got into a heated debate with one of the guests from his channel (On the Edge) - an ex-Jehovah's Witness named Lloyd Evans. This was after discussion of a recent scandal involving prostitutes. Lloyd Evans won't apologise to anyone but his wife. After the video, purportedly threatened to sue Andrew Gold if he talked to Lloyd's ex-colleague and producer (which Andrew did).
What was all the commotion about? Were Lloyd's actions all the more deplorable given his apparent position in protecting sex workers? Was Andrew right to push Lloyd's buttons? Did he you take it too far?

I was donating $60 a month to support someone who I thought was doing an important work, but when I heard he was using prostitutes when his only income was Patreon donations and activism income, I cut him off. I made a video explaining why I withdrew my financial support. A month long holiday with a sex worker. Enabled by patrons.

The worst thing about that holiday he took was that the whole reason he took was a 'mental health' break after he was already caught seeing Croatian sex workers. Poor little Lloyd needed a holiday to see MORE prostitutes after being caught. No not his poor wife she didn't need a break, she stayed at home and looked after the kids

@@Danielle-nz9tn Thank you it’s a sad situation all around even for Lloyd. Lloyd is free to do what he wants with his life but those things run counter to my principles regarding CSA, and I didn’t want to see the money I give towards activism support something that was completely contrary to what I wanted to see my money support, and I believed it was important enough matter over which to speak up.

This was another great interview about the whole Lloyd Evans controversy. The part that disturbs me the most is not Lloyd visiting sex workers, but the way he is so tone def when it comes to how his supporters view his actions, especially his Patreon supporters. Rather than sincerely listening to why they are disturbed, Lloyd immediately pivoted and started viciously attacking them. And remember, Lloyd exposed everything he did himself in a video he made on his channel, so they are only discussing things they would not otherwise know if Lloyd did not disclose it. The fact that he is so unwilling to engage in self-reflection and consider why his actions are so offensive is the key take-away for me.

That is precisely what pisses everyone off, that it's precisely the attitude his critics expect from him; it's simply more confirmation of who and what he is, what his motives are--something that has concerned some of us since we first encountered his brand of activism! #TheGoverningAntibody #SatiricalStevenSays

@@SamWesting I really think that expression of yours completely sums up coming away from Watchtower and "Peter z Griffin". You may come away from a cult but even to this day 6 years later and after two courses of therapy (12 sessions) I still get negative visitations of anxiety. It could be driving past a row of houses that I used to knock or hearing buzz words like ministry, pioneer, worldly, association. Every time I hear a piece of classical music a kingdom song seeps it's way in. it's like a cancer that was removed but it's tentacles are still there and can't be removed. You have to just learn to live with the scars. So yes, great expression. I shall use that when taking to folks I know who have escaped with high expectations, that is a lot harder than folks realize and that therapy is what I would say is essential. 👍

Lloyd Evans and Watchtower Society do not want their followers to be exposed to alternative viewpoints so they censor all criticism! Most activists do not censor criticism, they leave it in plain sight and sometimes address it, so guess whose version of the facts I believe! To maximize the exploitation (to keep those contributions rolling in) of the flock you must take extreme measures to conceal the facts, the truth, the evidence, you do not want them to be exposed to all sides of the issue, exposed to NEW LIGHT that reveals their own true DARKNESS!

Hi XJW here. The community was quite large already before James Lloyd Evans came on the scene - or should I say got Disfellowshipped from the Jehovah's Witnesses for what we don't actually know, but there has been speculation given what he had admitted to in his book. The XJW community has had a steady increase since social media came into being particularly. Watchtower tried to stop JW's from having Facebook profiles at first. As people moved through the times on the internet, Watchtower was getting left behind and they started getting in on this gig. I think they had shares in Facebook one of those years. We have noticed James Lloyd Evans behaviour from the beginning - I personally did not notice it myself at first until I was on the other side of his bullying. That's when the penny dropped. Edited to add - this has been my dealings with him in the past. When I agreed with him, he was friendly. When I had a difference of opinion, critqued his work on the CSA video he did, highlighting Panorama Suffer the Little Children (BBC 2002) of which I took part in anonymously in 2002 - he stated and I quote "Well it can't be that bad. Have some empathy for the victims"! Then he blocked me on Facebook. As a survivor of that abuse I was shocked at the level of contempt he had for me after using the segments of the documentary that I was party to. I stopped watching his stuff since then and heard from many other activists around about the same time that they too had been bullied by him. Everytime I hear or read his name now, a boiling rage and a bad taste is left in my mouth because I was hurt so badly by his comment to me. It was not supportive in the slightest. My critical feedback of that video started with words to the effect of it being good and I really hope many watch it, but, the spinning around made me feel sick as I do have motion sickness (which is why I can never play VR games or watch anything that can trigger it) and my suggestion was to put that in the beginning of the video for people who have that problem.

We need more people speaking up like you about him. I haven’t liked his over condescending atheist attitude for years now. But that’s what the organization breeds I guess! Also, I don’t know if you’re a woman or not, but this shows more to his character. He always acts like such a white knight (in the Leah remini specials, normal discussions with other female ex jws.) that it shows how big of a hypocrite he is when he treats people like he to you. It’s like a facade that he has that he’s SO progressive just to turn his back on them and have sex with underage people in a different country. And then say” look how great I am! I cheated on my wife” If he had any self respect he would disappear

Would you mind changing the description to the video? LE's work has never been to "protect sex workers " and to "expose sex trafficking" in the organisation. It's always been about exposing the handling and cover up of CSA in the jw organisation, and advocating for CSA victims. His recent revelations about using sex workers is seen as a conflict of interest and hypocritical. His lack of seeing the need to apologise to those he advocates for is what has upset the whole ex jw community.

Did Lloyd join JW, or was he born into it? I was born into a similar cult, and I notice cultish behaviour in people very quickly. I'm not surprised that Lloyd aparently has become "woke", which is also showing more and more signs of being a cult. Steven Hasan is also one of those "cult experts" of whom it is clear to me the moment he opens his mouth why he joined a cult in the first place. Some people have that predisposition, I guess.

I tried too hard to find love and sex, and life was real awkward. Although I have no illusion how life is anymore, I still have a subconscious knee jerk reaction to wanting to compensate for lost time. It makes me feel better to hear that you followed through with Kim and and that Lloyd's MO is to threaten people. In other words I hate to say it makes me feel better that Lloyd threatens everyone who takes an opposite opinion to his. In one What'sUp chat I went from Friend to Enemy literally in an instant. There was nothing I could say to make him think otherwise. When Lloyd first started Patreon he was making $9.20 a patron several years ago. Last January he was closing in on 1000 patrons at $6.00 + a patron, but not he's down to 571 patrons at $3.00 a patron. During your interview he said something about being able to retire soon on a quiet private island. But with the recent downturn his fortunes had taken over his outrageous actions and antics it seems that dream might have to be realized through suing everybody for libel who criticizes him. I have found it ironic that for having criticized him that I had not gotten over my Bible Student's judgmental character, and here you guys say he's using tactics taken from Watchtower! (Bible Students were the precursor sect from whom the Jehovah's Witnesses derived).

One of the key issues for exjw survivors is that he interviewed many survivors for monetary gain and the way he has gaslit everyone and the lines are blurred about consent and age in Thailand specifically, survivors have to question if he has just been getting off on our trauma. One of the things that happens with Jehovah’s Witness elders when it involves sex, even when it’s abuse, victims have to tell a group of 3 men every detail and then it’s viewed as a sin and not a crime. When we come out we start to realize most of the elders were getting off on those details. Now many of us have that thought in the back of our minds that maybe that was Lloyds bent too, as a sexual repressed ex elder who admitted to not having control over his member. His cult tactics fall directly into the BITE model. Behavior control. Information control Thought control. Emotional control. His bullying, as you highlighted has been going on for several years. He will get his followers like a mob after anyone disagreed. Including a survivor that testified at the Australia Royal Commission when she didn’t bend to his will on the rights to her own story. He insisted writing her story without her consent was legal but the point was it wasn’t ethical and getting the mob to bully her into her changing her mind certainly wasn’t ethical.

Not a llyod acolyte, I am just someone whose on the fence about all this. I'm genuinely curious does anyone have a single shred of evidence for any of the bullying allegations. Despite there being supposedly numerous complaints, no one from what I've seen at least seen has named a single incident or has cited a specific example. Everything appears completely vague as to what it is his purportedly done, it's starting to looks and feel like a witch hunt for the sake of a witch hunt. Not attempting to rile anyone up. However considering how many more people are getting futher involved directly and indirectly. It'll be good for people to start having some closures given ideally in the form of an answer or some sort of explanation. Especially for the likes of myself hovering on over the fence. I'd like to hear what it is his supposedly has done. I'm not talking minor dispute or a heated argument, I mean an actual altercation resulting in a quantifiable amount of abuse that been directly given by him. I don't care the least bit about the spate between him and Kim. I'm not siding with either as I don't entirely agree him or her. Any issues along those lines are for them to sort out they're both adults. I don't care people's opinions on moral or views about ethics either, as no feels over reals wins debates. James from what I can tell has been absolutely crystal clear that his complete and utter atheist. Morals don't fly in atheism, so I can understand his ''sex escapade rationale despite others viewing it as utterly despicable to be clear I'm not justifying it for him. Just saying that I can understand from an atheistic perspective that he may believe his not beholden to anyone's else moral, ethical and behavioral views or system. So in forward summary feel free and uncoerced to edify and info my tiny simple mind or don't.

He hired a lawyer and sent 12 warning letters to 14 people threatening to sue for libel unless they pay him $3000! With regard to Lloyd having the ability to threaten people directly? He has extremely dedicated followers all across the world and if so directed might be inclined to do something he'd ask them to do. I like the psychoanalysis...now if Dr. Shohon knew him better and was threatened as many have been he might have more background to diagnose him. But it seems the more I learn about psychopathy, sociopathy and narcissism they are all basically on the spectrum of anti social personality disorder.

Really enjoyed this neutral conversation. I think I agree with Dr Das on the issue of "body language" He says that drawing conclusions from body language is pointless as it statistically reveals nothing and it's hence "officially" disregarded in court. Yet covertly it actual seeps into the process. To illustrate. There was a judge who was faced with a defendant in a full Burka and he asked her to remove it so he could see the expression on her face with the rationale that he needed to see the expressions on her face while she was being cross examined. She refused and so he refused to try the case. The citation is Malcolm Gladwell's book 'Talking to strangers" which debunks the correlation between evidence and body language. He asserts that statistically the evidence and nothing else should dictate the proceedings and also sentencing. As a crude illustration. A skilled actor would likely be more successful at defending himself than a poorly educated janitor. I recommend all of his books but particularly this one as it forensically debunks all the myths. Excellent interview.

Thank you for having Andrew Gold on (and thank you Andrew for doing it). I have watched Lloyd and experienced Lloyd's online bullying personally. Lloyd Evans AKA John Cedars, his video editor, and a number of his followers have tried repeatedly to learn my identity. The best they have been able to determine is any previous anonymous accounts I have used. I know first hand of a couple that live near me that he has threatened one of their parents with physical harm. I have watched Lloyd try and steal the copyrights to a book by the late Raymond Franz called Crisis of Conscience in 2017. To the point of secrets - I find it interesting that any time he mentions the call where he confessed to his producers he is always sure to emphasize how much they supported him, "offering their homes" and "starting a group chat" to support him. So if I were to guess.... his wife found out so the secret was no longer a secret. So to get ahead of things he confessed to them so when it eventually became public he would be able to point to them to share the blame. IF he is a narcissistic psychopath that type of forethought is not uncommon. He ignores the blame of wrongdoing by playing the victim (of cult sexual repression) while simultaneously attempting to channel the anger of upset moral compasses towards the innocent people who "supported" his immoral and unethical (yet, to him, justified) actions.

As one of the comments above exemplifies, Lloyd Evans’ greatest weakness in the ex-JW “community” has long been “tall poppy syndrome”. - Articulate, confident, arrogant, willing to immerse himself in the mind-numbing historical and theological minutiae of the Jehovah’s Witness organization, and to proselytize shamelessly for awareness of their inner workings. - Sensitive to criticism, and bearing the palette of human flaws - as they are exacerbated or distorted by the processes of growing up as “a member in good standing” of the Jehovah’s Witnesses, ...Lloyd Evans did the unthinkable: 1) he was not afraid to make himself the “face” of an existing, though loosely-coordinated, movement, and 2) he channeled latent rage (the rot of many ex-JWs) and ready ambition into his own brand of “activism”, _and succeeded in making a career of it_ - as owner/editor of an informational website, a KZbin channel, two or three self-published books, international speaking engagements, and documentary film-making. Many who have simmered for years - feeling themselves steamrolled, displaced, outpaced or ignored until resentment dried up - were brightened and enlivened, like tinder near a spark, when a trusted someone decided to manufacture community outrage on the back of a ‘friend’s’ poor judgment and marital betrayal. Unfortunately, as much as your guest liked to style himself a journalist, he neglected to engage in the investigative aspect - which would have given him the grounding to enquire of his topic intelligently. His hazy and ill-fitting preconceptions of the subject matter immediately undermined (within the first few minutes of speaking on the topic) the structure of opinion, assessment and judgment that he proceeded haphazardly to build. Sadly, it showed him as unserious - when I had anticipated a much different approach.

I was involved in the original scandel back in 2014, I had just left th cult and was searching for answers. Needless to say, when I first entered satans KZbin 😂I was actually physically shaking and felt sick due to the indoctrination. Marc and Cora were the two KZbinrs that contributed to wake me up as they hade gone througha similar experiece to what I had gone through. I remember to this day seeing a thumbnail to one of Lloyd Evan's (then called John Ceders) and instantly feeling quite uncomfortable. My intuition told me that there was something not right about this guy. This guy rode on the woke culture which was at it s peak in 2014. Woke culture is now coming to an end as more and more people are fighting back against the woke cancel culture and Lloyd will have to realise no one is going to take this crap anymore.

At one point early on in all this, Lloyd said he was considering hiring a PR manager to handle the fallout, but he clearly didn't take his own advice. His decision to approach you, Andrew, has backfired catastrophically. Perhaps it needed to. And yet, I hear him (and his work) being misrepresented here on some really small points and it's driving me crazy. My opinion on him has only worsened as more has been said - largely by him. But it's such a shame that his entire body of work is being dragged through the mud to this extent.

One point I do want to push back on though is Andrew’s characterization at 12:00 of KZbinrs using symbols or certain ways of saying things or placing things in their backgrounds as indicative of a cult leader. Maybe cult leaders do this too but so do all successful organizations because it works. It’s more about building a brand: branding is very important when trying to establish a successful channel.

Andrew's point about good or bad news selling your social media site - I've got a tiny campaign page on a non-religious problem and I spend no money on it whatsoever. It is only about UK issues and reaches up to 10 million people a week. I've noticed that a very negative article, or an enraging one, etc, will get FAR more traffic and shares, etc, than the good news stories (they're not good news stories that involve gorgeous cats. I'd love to know a way to get more people to see the good and positive news. I always do a mix of joking aspects on the subject to balance the misery. I guess it's driving past a car crash that slows down other cars for a gawp, and not the beautiful wedding happening that's visible from the road that slows down drivers...

Thank you for doing this video. I understand Andrew is beginning to feel like I did every time a lloyd scandal blew up over the last 9 years and I tried to tell people what he was like. After a few posts it looks like you are a shrill harpie with a personal grudge, so you shut up, and wait. Then the next one blows up and you come out again and say ‘this is what I was trying to warn you about last time’. A few posts, and people begin to accuse you of being a hater and jealous. So you shut up. Then the next lloyd scandal breaks - rinse and repeat. I gave Andrew quite a hard time when the Lloyd Prostitute video was first advertised. I called him a misery tourist. I thought this was just one more way lloyd could utilise decent but uninformed people to promote his gaslighting agenda. I can only thank Andrew for putting his neck out and bravely explaining how lloyd went from friend to threatening narcissist. I hope SO many who felt they were bullied and silenced use the excellent humour they have used in the past to once again create a shared video , without naming anyone, to show how a cult of one( my therapists description of these social media personalities), cult like you tube or social media personalities create themselves, what their tactics are, types of bullying, examples of threats made, and their cult like language. It would be SO hilarious. So many have left cults and woken up the last 2 years. I desperately, and SO many ex jw's just need and miss some excellent humour! My therapist was right humour is what woke me up and it's such a relatable way to do so, and comforting as well if down properly. My cousin made an Armageddon survival bag with mini marshmallows , crackers, and tooth picks, and that helped more then most in depth information to break through the many years of hellish ingrained fear mongering lies from a doom and gloom cult. I think, as does my spouse, you are one of the funniest people we have ever seen on you tube. Thank you!

Andrew mentions two to three thousand from chat donations during live feeds on Lloyd’s channel. This is a ridiculous amount to be raised during one live broadcast. Fortunately, chats from live broadcasts remain available, and one can read the chats that were made during a broadcast, when one post-watches a live broadcast. The chat shows what donations people made, so it is easy to check the amount donated from chat-donations. Doubt that Andrew could show a video where the amount he talks about is raised. My experience of watching being in love chats on Lloyd’s, and many other channel creators. Is that typically donations usually amount to around £200, and more often than not, considerably less. Could Andrew point to a video where Lloyd,received thousands of pounds worth of donations during a live broadcast? I do not think Andrew is being malicious here, but merely ignorant of how much chat donations typically raise. Also he says the Watchtower society, ie Jehovah’s Witnesses ( The organisation does not refer to itself as a church), is involved in Sex trafficking, and that this is one of the things Lloyd criticises the organisation for. This is nonsense, I am not aware of anyone accusing the Watchtower of Sex trafficking, let alone Lloyd Evens. The Watchtower Society is accused of not reporting sexual assaults against minors, and of their congregations aware of reports against an individual who has sexually assaulted a minor. Less than seven minutes in and Andrew has already made two major errors. He is not the fact checking journalist that he imagines himself to be.

About James Lloyd Evans He lost his mother when he was a child/tween/teen, he became an Elder when he was older for about 5 minutes (actually a few months) before being ousted from the JW community which he tells people about in his book 'The Reluctant Apostate.' - He is the director of his father's company, even though his father is still a JW to our knowledge. His father allegedly shuns him after he was ousted from the JW community. He had/has his own company called JLE Publishing (which is public knowledge, it's on the companies house government website) Used to be a translating service. Since leaving JW's he has infiltrated the community, going by the name of John Cedars until his judicial committee with JW's, officially expelling him. He has scammed people, set up his own website, then his own youtube channel telling people things, which really, a lot of people in the XJW community already know or have exposed. He has doxxed XJW's, bullied XJW's, tried to steal the crisis of conscience book, and was going to put a CSA survivors story in his book to profit from it. Her name was BCG on the Australian Royal Commission. There are tonnes of things this guy has said to people and done to people in this community and the majority are sick of it. Only a minority hang on to him. A thread on JWN is over 180 pages long on his nefarious deeds over the past decade. www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5746445889044480/been-long-9-years-lloyd-evans-john-cedars

wow. JLE has shot himself in the legs, with this one. ALL the people that he has pissed off have friends or go to talk on some platform or another cuz we all need to talk about our good and bad days, even if he has own camp of stans, this can actually end up on Daily Mail or The Sun and make his activism on ICSA or elswhere impossible. He could have apologized and retreated to private life, builty himself up and come back years later maybe reformed and owning mistakes but still wanting to fight watchtower sins But worst battle for him i imagine is gonna be from his own family especially when his kids grow up and his wife or his inlaws. Even if they love him as well, family dynamics are more unforgiving at times. I dunno what could be his worst battle, public PR disaster that levels up on the net or family being angry at his behaviours years to come. If only he would have a good friend to reign him and say, dude you should apologize or your your family will hate you and yould be possibly alone soon. But i guess he wont listen even if he would have a friends. Humans do this mistake, if u only listen to positive feedback, and thats good, but we dont grow only thru validation, its a survival tool mostly. Anything can be a downfall or a stagnation. Perhaps he has go down more difficult way to realize. Perhaps he has to learn from his future teen kids anger and cold shoulders or being kicked out by parents of his wife. If the rest of world dont matter, his inner familly does. He cant ran away from that and they are not gonna be his stans every day anyway.

What are Andrew's ethical guidelines as KZbin reporter? if he cannot ask unbiased questions because he considers his contributors a 'mate' should he be in charge of booking his own guests and communicating with them outside of interviews? He says that he would not question anything his 'mates' posted on Twitter, but openly questions Lloyd. He states that the boundaries of his ethical practice blur when he is gifted £1.50 a month or supported with his channel, he is swayed by another 'creator's' flattery, do journalists not get training to protect themselves from such influences? Andrew needs to create clear guidelines between: contributor, supporter, interviewee and 'mate'. Is Andrew a cult specialist? If so he may recognise that Lloyd's channel has its flaws, but it. also encourages critical thinking, something regarded as sinful in the JW cult. The channel does not dissect JW rhetoric in a methodical way which can be off putting, but for individuals that have been betrayed, Lloyd's visible anger can be a wonderful thing to see when expressing yourself feels lonely. Andrew regards Lloyd as holding an 'Us vs Them' attitude to JW governing body, however the dynamic between cult member and leader is only ever, one of victim and abuser. Cult leaders are not open to dialogue. If Andrew wanted to have a clearer picture, he could ask a member of the governing body for an interview. The way Andrew derisively uses the term 'woke' to describe a cult survivor shows a lack of understanding of the pain of leaving a cult and breaking free of years of psychological abuse. Ex JW's work incredibly hard to rebuild their lives, often being forced through the horrendous injustice of having to leave loved ones behind. This interview is confused in its separation between sex work and child abuse. The two have overlapping themes of undue influence, and imbalance of power, but each sex worker has their own voice and in some instances advocate their free will in choosing such a career. This is impossible in cases of child abuse. Thank you for raising the issues of consent and power dynamics when dating a sex worker.

@@daisy4750 That's not remotely sex trafficking. Sex trafficking is transporting illegally people for the purpose of sex exploitation. That is not what the JW org does. This is a weird conversation. First, Andrew doesn't seem like he really has knowledge of either JWs, the history, what Lloyd talks about or doesn't. Being an ex-JW and having watched Lloyd, I don't get that he was trying to create a cult of his own. He was saying sex-trafficking, when the JW issue is child sexual abuse. So, it's like just saying whatever trigger words because it elicits an emotional reaction knowing a person doesn't need knowledge of the actual situation to formulate an opinion and pick a side. A little misinformed and misleading at best if not intentional. To be a YT personality you need a following and ex-JW is a very specific niche. We understand what is being said and why its important to talk about it. He wasn't my favorite as I did feel he had a bit of the witness way of speaking but I don't discount what he does on the channel. I also didn't feel he was drawing me into some group. Many ex-JWs use the terms they have been groomed to use and speak in a certain way because we lived that for decades and from our youth. How he says certain things doesn't mean he's trying to create a cult. We're all naturally a part of the group already. Now you have someone who hasn't done anything a huge number of people do, being piled on because YT personalities need something to talk about and want to be involved without even having firsthand knowledge. How many times did you just admit you don't know in detail? I think this is more a personal hit piece based on what I see. Your a journalist apparently, but you take things personally and in telling this story, you slant it to fit your emotions, even though you inserted yourself in the situation by interviewing him. Never seen so many grown men chatty pattys...

Final comments, he said that a lot of what Lloyd revealed was regularly using sex workers in Thailand, This is not true, even Lloyd’s ‘producer’ who Andrew refers too who went public about Lloyd’s private life, acknowledge that Lloyd only visited Thailand once. As for “ If Tabor is gracious”, is just a joke. The phrase “…is gracious” is not a JW’s term. Andrew talks about potential for toxicity, but he gives no examples. Andrew cannot give one example of anyone being abused by Lloyd from watching his channel. Not one, because there is none. No one from watching Lloyds channel, have been abused by Lloyd. 99.9% of them will never have met Lloyd in person. No sex worker met Lloyd through his channel, or were ex-JW. Is view that the more outrageous the JW society behaves, the more hits Lloyd would get. This is true, but it is also true of all ex-JW’s channels. How is this cultish behaviour, this is simple human behaviour. I am interested in what white Christian’s Nationalists get up to, when one of them makes a particular outrageous statement, then I am going to check those media and online sources who reports on White Christian Nationalist. There are only a handful of people who claim ( until some accused him of being a child predator) Lloyd “bullied them”, but these are those who claim Lloyd bullied them because after he made videos criticising their support of the JW ban in Russia, or saying that disrupting JW services is not productive as it plays into the Society’s claim of persecution. Those making these claims ( a mere handful) include people - such as Kim &Mikey (check them out their channel is’ KimMikey’ - they are conspiracy freaks, who believe in Vatican world domination, and reference works by Graham Hancock (about aliens etc.,). Remember JW’s are discouraged from receiving further education - and so often lack critical skills. They should not be told to reference books such as “The Finger Prints of the Gods” as reliable sources. Yet these are the people Andrew trusts (whether he is aware he does or not), I suspect he never checked up on these stories of Lloyd supposedly dozing people, or on the people making these claims. I happen to know about this particular story in some detail, and if this is Andrew’s investigative reporting, then he is not very good at it.

Yes do a video about sleep paralysis that would be awesome!! My brother suffers horribly from it. Growing up as jws we were terrified of the devil and demons my brother said his bed was floating and it was demons. My mother prayed and prayed then she realized she bought my brother an old atlas at a yard sale and it was probably possessed so she threw it out. 🤦🏻‍♀️. All that did was install in my young mind how true the jws were . Of course he tells me as we were older it was just sleep paralysis

That is an absolute lie Jehovah's Witnesses don't require 2 Witnesses to a crime before they can go to the police. Elders are not the police; therefore, in congregation matters they need proof, a confession, or at least another witness to the allegations, when it's just one person's word against another, before they can take action within the congregation. Their policy is to inform parents first if the matter involves allegations of child abuse. Jehovah's Witnesses elders always find out what the law requires. When they are required to be mandated reporters they comply. Jehovah's Witnesses can go to the authorities at any time they like.

@Alex Williams what part of it was a lie? Please be specific.
@moseslivingstone1258
@moseslivingstone1258 2 жыл бұрын
@Alex Williams Elders first inform the unaccused parent , if accusations are made known to them. The onus then is on the parent to take what ever legal action they think necessary. Generally speaking the law allows for this and elders don't need to come forward to seek intervention by the authorities unless the child is still in danger. In some places however mandatory reporting laws mean that they must go to the police themselves immediately regardless of the accusers or parents wishes, even if the accusations are historic in nature. This can cause problems because if some know that everything they are going to say to elders or friends is going to go straight to the police then they may not speak up at all. The issue can be complex and that's why they get legal advice to find out what the law actually does require in that part of the world.

@Alex Williams that is not true; however, like in the Boy Scouts or the Salvation Army or any other organisation things can happen. You have no understanding of the matter, or are just parroting propaganda, when when you claim it's worse than in the Catholic Church. For a start Jehovah's Witnesses don't run state funded orphanages like other churches have and where much of the abuses occurred in the past. Infact statistics provided by the Australian Royal Commission prove the children of Jehovah's Witnesses are far less likely to be abused than children in the general population Summing up in Australia the Royal Commission had very little to criticise about current practise except finger wagging due to their own misunderstandings about the so called two witnesses rule I say misunderstanding because you do not need two witnesses to a crime before you can go to the police.
@moseslivingstone1258
@moseslivingstone1258 2 жыл бұрын
@Alex Williams So what are you trying to say, are you a victim yourself? If so then why don't you go to the police? The problem with the church run orphanages was that it was expected by governments that they would already have the right people in the right places, under their own oversight, to protect children when sadly this was not always the case; hence, the abuses went on for years while at the same time these institutions were being tax payer funded. So yes Jehovah's Witnesses haven't been on that band wagon, but especially in recent times they have done much and spend millions in disaster relief work. Now with something like eight million world wide they are large enough to be seen as having an impact in this kind of ministry, when at other times people were only aware of their house to house preaching work. Also now days especially with the greater awareness and training we see regarding prevention of child abuse and I mean right across the board with police and child prevention authorities they have developed a very good child protection policy.

@Alex Williams actually 8 million is the number of active witnesses who regulary participate in the preaching of the good news of the kingdom, Matthew 24:14, meaning then that there are still many more who believe in it though they are not viewed as practising or active. We do believe in education, which is a personal choice, but at the same time we do promote that there is much more to life, happiness, and being good people then striving for riches and trying to make it big in the world which higher education is primarily geared for. Nobody translates into more languages than Jehovah's Witnesses. Their website alone can be viewed in well over 1000 languages.

JWs who are brought up in from infancy are different than those brought in. You always need to be right. Perfectionism. You are told that you will never be perfect, but there is an expectation that you need to be perfect. Its very difficult to break away from that behavior. When confronted you have a cover story, as you will be punished and shamed otherwise. Silence and privacy as others will report on you and you are expected to report on them. There is fear that you will lose everything including your life, because you made a mistake. This is a call for the Mental Health profession to know more about High Control groups to help people who have been in them. 7 million people, to my best knowledge, alone in the US alone who are Ex Cult members. And a percentage of them raised in. Just putting that out there as it a concern to me.

This is hardly surprising, he was sexually suppressed until his marriage. However being unable to own any blame is a JW trait . I feel he is a moth to drama and perhaps that explains his feminist side and has never learnt to be a real man. When your in the business of activism you have to be squeaky clean. Is he Narcissistic this is possible giving his upbringing as a JW . What I will say he has done a lot to exposing the JW organisation, and I feel Loyd Evans is still influenced in how he behaves he perhaps has not realised quite how much. He knows you know he has experience.
