Part of the reason why I currently use Arch-based distros now myself is because of just how superior Pacman is to APT - so good to know that someone is at least trying to bring APT up to par with it. Of course, no third-party solution can possibly mitigate the fact that Ubuntu and its derivatives lack the rolling release nature of Arch - so this alone isn’t enough to convince me to switch back.

@@glidersuzuki5572 Fewer characters needed on the command line, a much more standard package format (tarball instead of cpio archive), decentralized (mirrored) repos, and higher compression ratio. And that’s just for starters. As for Fedora, it can only really come close to matching Arch if you’re talking about Rawhide. Fedora releases other than Rawhide still suffer from repository stagnation between releases, a problem that only a rolling model can properly rectify.

Only on LM20.x (Ubuntu 20.04). From the post pinned at the top, one of the Nala Developers chimed in. They have no plans to back-port Nala to older Debian based distros. So... LM19.x and older is a no-go. As well as Ubuntu 18.04 and older. Currently, Ubuntu 20.04 is supported. But... Only until Ubuntu 22.04 arrives next month. So that means... LM20.x and Ubuntu 20.04 will no-longer receive any updates after April. At least that's what I'm reading between the lines.

APT just prints a bunch of URLs in the CLI every time you try to do anything, this is not useful at all, I've never understood why the most popular Linux distros are based on Debian, and I think this is why people new to Linux find the CLI scary. APT is the worst package manager by a long shot.
