Hi! I am in big troubles and need help: I have Immich installed on a Proxmox LXC (Debian 12, Helpers Script), with thousands of pictures & videos in the database. After finishing the recent upgrade to the 1.122.3 version, the Web interface asked me to identify me, which I did. Unfortunately I used the "Register" option instead of the "New session" option using my application Admin credentials. Being considered a new user, I faced a "Click to upload your first picture" screen, with 0 photo/video in that account. However, the storage stat (Online Server) shows 28.8GB, which was the size of my database. By chance, I still access the LXC via the console, using root. I tried a backup "restore", but the problem is in my identification on the web interface. Can anybody help me, please? Thank you in advance! Marc S.

I don't recommend any ad blockers, there are ways around ad's, without using an ad blocker. A lot of webpages make there money threw ads and if you have a ad blocker installed you will loose access to there sites. The way around see ads on KZbin is to either pay for a membership or post a video on KZbin, if you post video's on KZbin they will give you a free membership.

For people who got stuck with sudo chown -R 1000:1000 /data. As I'm using Turnkey LXC as my share container I needed to change permissions for my folder from 775 to 777. It took me quite a while till I figured it out, so I think if anyone has the same problem with share application used in this video series, try to change that ruling there as well.

Does it really have faster speed over Arch? Those patches to the kennel shouldn't have been developed by the CashyOS team but others. Then, why weren't they included in thr regular kernel? Isn't it because they have some catches or unstable?

Here are a few issues I had when setting this up and how I fixed them. Not an expert at this, but hopefully this helps someone. Lmk if anything should be corrected: 1) Cannot touch test.txt in "/data," & permission issues with chown: I've set this up twice now and came across a similar issue both times. What I did was su to root then ran the chown command he gave. It will give you an error, but you can ignore it (see below). After I su back to my user, I was able to touch /data & set everything up working perfectly. Again not an expert, but I believe the chown error is specifically d/t the "/data/lost + found" dir which is a part of the ext(4) file system. To my knowledge, this dir has to do with recovery data in ext(4) and therefore, requires specific permissions to access. Running the chown command given on "/data" will be denied, even by root, bc this "lost + found" dir is a subdir of /data and the system doesn't want it to be fucked with. Fortunately though, it still gives permissions for the "/data" separately and I've not had any issues mkdir or etc. 2) Fucked internet connection on the docker LXC container This is probably more specific to me. I setup this r-stack proxmox thing once already so I thought I could rearrange a few steps. I decided to do the "tun" 100.conf edit step right after creating the LXC and before all other steps. My brain is too small to understand exactly why but this fucked the hell out of the LXC's internet connection & gave me a headache trying to troubleshoot (spent a while creating, setting up, and destroying containers to find the issue). The only thing that fixed it was following the steps of the tutorial exactly, leaving the "tun" 100.conf edit near the end of LXC setup. It just magically worked after that so that was a good lesson in not free-styling steps.

I guess I misunderstood the point of piHole. I thought it allowed the ads, but sent them all to the pihole to die - as in the sites visited think the ads are delivered but they just got rerouted to the piHole. Was I wrong? If I have to disable it every time there's a site that requires ads (like almost all of them now), how is this "better" than ad blockers?

I've been using it for a week now, over the period of a few days I've installed every major distro and tested them out as sort of a beginner (I've used ubuntu a lot to setup servers and stuff at work, but only through SSH so just cli). Initially I wanted to go with Arch which to be honest it's a really cool idea, but I just don't have that many preferences yet to feel like I know exactly everything I want to install. With EndeavourOS you get a ton of DE options right out of the box, also, in my experience at least, it was the only distro that installed the correct nvidia drivers by itself, but I still had to tinker with it a bit to get the framerate on my desktop decent. Pacman and AUR are just on another league when compared to everything else too, so I guess I'll stick to Arch based distros from now on.

For 600 you can buy a used Lenovo IdeaPad or even better to the theme of the video Lenovo Yoga that has a i7 13th gen Intel Core and put linux on it any distro you can think of. & a 2.8k touchscreen that supports a Stylus. This is a repackage White label Tablet that had linux slapped in to make money on people who think it's good for a company to sell linux out of the box; which I agree is awesome But not like this. This in a space of Computer enthusiasts is a insult to anyone who can think 2 layers deeper to the sales pitch of this company
