Oh haha oops, I didn't add that. Here's a short summary: Henry Cabot Lodge was a Republican Massachusetts Senator who opposed US participation in the League of Nations following WW1 bc he thought it would bind them to international agreements that they might not be able to uphold. Since he was the chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee in Congress, he was able to successfully oppose the League of Nations part of the Treaty of Versailles by delaying the process (which meant waning public support for it). He basically helped fuel the US isolationist sentiment at the time. Hope that helps!
