*I have a question:* at 14:32 you showed how this A level way of looking at electron configuration matches with what we've learnt at GCSE. BUT, how would you show that the Bohr way works for titanium's electron configuration at 19:57, because then the 3rd energy level is holding 10 electrons when it's supposed to be holding 8. This is the one thing that is stopping me from completely understanding this topic, I'd really appreciate it if someone could explain it to me. Thanks!
@qingwu9176 жыл бұрын
The third energy level holds 10 cos 3s2 3p6 3d2. Thats the electronic configuration. So you add the 2 and the 6 and the 2 together and it makes a nice 10. The 1 energy level hold 2 cos 1s2. The 2 energy level hold 8 cos it 2s2 2p6. Nothing is holding 8 stuffs unless its a 2 energy level and it goes on and on liek that. Also what is an energy level? And what is borhs way? +GoldonPopcorn Smashed it. That's got to be a record. Nope, this video is good for the new spec!

1 question: for sulphur shouldn’t it be- 1s2, 2s2, 2p6, 3s2, 3p4. U wrote 2p4 instead of 3p4 so just want to know if I am wrong

For the electronic configuration, apologies if I'm wrong, but shouldn't it be: 1s^2, 2s^2, 2p^6, 3s^2, 3s^4 And not 2p^4?

+Dilan S I'm not sure exactly which you are on about... But if my memory serves me correctly, there is an annotation with a correction regarding one of the atoms.
