This week Relics and Ruins is going international with a short tour and history of Aqaba Castle, in the Red Sea town of Aqaba in modern day Jordan.
This began as a Mamluk caravanserai and was fortified, and further changes made under the Ottomans before becoming a crucial site in the Arab Revolt of 1916-17.
