We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version kzbin.infoUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

How does the angle mount connect to the doorbell?

Is it possible to screw it horizontally (to get videos vertically)? I wonder why most of manufacturers just don’t do this natural way of alignment… just install the matrix vertically, and people will see both faces and packages.

Reply: yes it’s possible and it doesn’t affect the monitor detection. Not sure about face detection (I don’t use). But in general the software of this camera is so poor, that I cannot really use the is door bell 50% of a time. It just hangs. Another camera is fine. Maybe, because doorbell is 2.4 Wi-Fi only. But I think just because of updates. It worked originnaly for a month, then stopped working for about a month, then started working again etc. don’t buy it. It’s raw and terrible product. Maybe will be fixed by updates, maybe not.

If you have a HomeKit-enabled TV (Sony) at home, can you open the screen directly on the TV when someone rings the doorbell?

Helpful video - thanks. My only concern is that you caption "avoid short circuit of power cord" when a few seconds earlier you clearly have uninsulated power cables touching the bateries, which are conductive and could well form a short.

I want to purchase but my house has a wall next to the door at right angles to the g4 location. I think I will not be able to secure the screw to mount to the backplate correct ? This would be a shame.

just got this also. Instructions note an optional screw fastening of Chime unit. No screw holes provided? Its a hit and miss experience. The Cam has stalled at the scan Bar code . My gizmo struggles to recognize . Called for help. Useless so far. Remaining stubbornly optimistic for a lightning strike !

Anyone else have problems with the doorbell speaker in the Aqara app? As of today, Aug. 29, 2023 I am running the latest version of the app and of the Aqara firmware. The speaker and microphone work fine in the Apple Home app, but they cannot be heard when using the Aqara app. I assume this is an app issue and not a problem with the doorbell itself, but I'm still within the return window and don't think I want a $120 doorbell that doesn't function properly. I've reached out to Aqara twice but haven't even gotten an acknowledgement that they have received my ticket.

Is the battery compartment sealed when hard wiring? By the looks of this video once the square cutout is removed to insert the wires, it almost looks like water would slip in behind the doorbell and straight into the battery compartment. Can anyone confirm?
