This horse has no signs of hidden stress: no tail swishing, no chomping on the bit, no ears back, no opening the muzzle, no tension in the muzzle... I'm fascinated with her tail hanging down so relaxed the hole time. No reved up emotions. Great training!! What a difference to the dressage horses! They look so tense and stressed while competing.

Not only all horses but all riders. I grew my horsemanship when I first started out by riding in a closed arena and riding with my reins laying down, my hands off of them. Taught me how to ride with my legs and my seat. That was how I got over my beginners mistake of overusing my reins (I started riding late, didn’t start till I was 21). It’s a skill that every horseperson should master.

The bridles are painful for horses and shouldn’t be used... it’s a shame that so many people are thinking they are necessary for training. But with the right training horses don’t need pain to be trained.

She's a beautiful mare. She didn't freak when the bridle came off, and not necessarily was it the bit, it was actually the bridle rubbing again her, great lead change and everything, nothing against bit but it's always good to train your horse reining or just a neck rope

It’s too bad I’m pretty sure the run didn’t count. He must have been DQ’d, If not for losing the bridle, then for grabbing the reins and bridle with his freehand. Nonetheless, it was still a fantastic display of horsemanship, and a great ride. It’s clear these two have that bond we all strive to achieve with our horses. Very good show.

Speaks volumes about the intelligence of the animal and the trust the rider has learned to develope with the animal. The horse is defintely in charge (do your research) both have found a way to communicate. BRAVO! congratulations, but, no further explotation for profit or personal recognition is needed. Now this is a great example of a great horse, a great rider, correct training and and incredible bond. This bought me to tears because I just love how even tho he got disqualified for having both hands on the reigns, they carried on together and did almost a perfect run with basically just a neck rope! I see where you're coming from about bits being a pain-compliance training aid however, bits are necessary when you have a horse performing at this level. Believe it or not, some horses love their bits.. Ms Dreamy did not though. And the whole hackamore thing, They are terrible, I've seen many horses with the bridge of their nose crushed because of the amount of pressure they apply. Moral of the story here is, stop deciding what is best for your horse.....a truly exceptional horse-person knows this, and tries many different bits until they find one the HORSE LIKES....

Explain to me the entire process of getting a horse to perform at this level with no bit, because I call b.s. Explain to me how to get a horse to rate your seat, tell me how to shape the horse for a correct lead departure, tell me the cues for a flying lead change for reining and dressage. If you don't use bits then surely you don't use spurs or dressage whips or any training aids at all....if you made a video series you would be a millionare, why are you wasting your breath talking to a bit-using, horse abuser like myself?

It also shows the rare no need for bitless bridles, saddles, neckropes, legs, or hands. Because, obviously, if one specific team of horse and rider can work fine without these cues, _obviously_ every team can as well... no matter their skill level, temperament, pressure preferences, discipline, or any other factor that would define the gear they use. Because, *_obviously_* , every horse and every rider the exact same... right? Anyway, no offense intended. People are entitled to their opinion... even if it is to the disadvantage of other people and their animals. I say figure out what works for you and your horse, and whatever that may be should not be judged so arrogantly by other people. As long as they aren’t blatantly and verifiably painful and harmful to the horse (e.g. wire bits, sharp twisted bits, bits with heavy leverage, harsh bosals and hackamores, sharp spurs, whips used to inflict pain... you get the point).

Guys you all make no sense don't listen to people who exploit horses because of selfishness. In a few years, we will look back and ask yourself why we did use such barbaric methods like bits. Horses aren't born to wear bits there are enough people out there who prove that bitless can be done with every horse it just requires the rider to be willing to develop him/herself. But most people choose the lazy way. I once trained a horse which was known to be dangerous and only could be ridden with a Pelham (even from heavy build men and I am a thin woman) and I was able to ride him jumping, dressage etc. with a normal stable halter AND I was no an experienced rider back then. ;)

The TOP Competitions for horses and riders in any discipline should be without using bridles or spurs (neckstrap is fine). Saddles can be used for how great a horse is but best riders IMO if they're riding bareback without bridles or spurs it shows true skill.
