Maybe it does go that route, then again maybe not. Personally, I'll reserve judgement only after I see where the author takes their dynamic from here on out... and not take away from the core emotional aspects that are being highlighted in the few recent chapters.

I find it's interesting how Gorou and Sarina were coincidentally reincarnated as siblings. It's all thanks to Ai. She traded her life in order to bring back the 2 person who've once took care of her when she was pregnant and the other for truly is a big fan of her (hearing it from Gorou in Episode 1/Chapter 1). That was why crow girl said Ai can't be reincarnated.

Ai was consumed by a desire to love and be loved and thought being a mother could fix that. Ruby dies with regrets about her mother, a wish to be born to an idol, and deep regrets about not being able to live out her own dreams as an idol. Gorou had deep regrets about being unable to help Sarina, and as he was dying all he was thinking about was that idea of being reborn as an idol's child, and about getting back to Ai. So all their desires aligned perfectly. A mother desperately wanting love, and two people with regrets about their life looking to be reborn in conditions Ai perfectly fulfilled. I think the reason Ai can't reincarnate though is because she didn't die with her desire unfulfilled. In her last moments she realized that with Aqua and Ruby there were finally people that genuinely loved her, and who she genuinely loved.

Sarinas crush was because Gorou was literally the only figure in that life that kept treating her with more than just respect but also kindness, she was young and stuck in that hospital so yeah it figures why he would be her childhood crush. Reason why even after becoming ruby she has the crush? Because like we have seen in the last chapters she hasn't actually matured and processed a lot of factors about her past life. I'm sure this will just be them forming their sibling relationship for new reasons, their past and their love for their mom and probably scenes of second embarrassement from her because God damn imagine getting your first crush reincarnating as your brother I would be so embarrassed I'd threw up.

A friend and I were discussing how OnK's central themes of finding genuine love and happiness with a family you can call your own was already there from the start in the form of Gorou's fatherly/older sibling relationship with Sarina. And when he lost Sarina to sickness, he couldn't forgive himself but then Ai came around and Ai reminded him of Sarina. Only to LOSE Ai to a killer, and not a disease. No wonder he's so traumatized and messed up. He basically failed TWICE. But with this? This changes things since at least Gorou knew that he has not failed yet, knowing that Sarina's practically by his side all along. I'm more excited how this will change their dynamics and how Aqua interacts with the other people now that he has a reason to live in this life since he can't leave Ruby alone anymore. Same goes for Ruby too, especially knowing that she thought her Sensei was gone but he had always been by her side right from the start. Is she gonna understand why Aqua behaved the way he did? Will she help him in his revenge and do it the right way? What about Akane? Now that the cat's out of the bag, how is this gonna change her plan to stop Aqua's self-destructive pursuit of revenge? Is Aqua gonna talk to her next? What now, guys?! Too many questions!

I really hope they don’t skip over their first few interactions after finally realizing who they are. I really wanna see how the dynamics shift instead of just time skipping and it’s already normal. I think Ruby would want to help with revenge, but Aqua will prolly want her to take a back seat for now. He has this second chance with Sarina and really wants her to live this life to the fullest after all. And Aqua should know doing something like getting locked up after killing his father or something won’t be good for Ruby. There’s so many things that can happen and I can’t wait!

@@ZephyrRetro the only thing that bugs me is that Aqua has known since his first year as Aqua that Ruby was Sarina, even if he foolishly didn't realise it. In chapter 3 he calls out Sarinas name while she is sleeping, at which ruby wake up and questions if aqua called her, on its own its just a coincidence, but when learning of her aspirations, knowing she's a big fan of AI leaning that in her past she could do things she wanted to do because she wasn't well, and then how she reacted to finding his body, the pieces REALLY should have pieced together much sooner. Maybe because he's in his 40-50s mentally now?

I just read this chapter and while it was only like 6 pages I had my breath taken away, it’s exactly what we’ve all wanted: for the two to drop their sibling act and be who they really were. That hug at the end, it’s not between siblings who fail to really understand each other, it’s between two people who were the shining parts of each other’s lives. It was beautiful, the choked up way Aqua (no, he’s Gorou again now) begs for the girl he’s been caring for all along to follow her dreams while she has the chance. The last two panels, a sudden transition between their past and present where their bond is mended, the hug between Sarina and Gorou and Ruby and Aqua now one and the same. And the most beautiful detail is the stars of hate leaving Ruby’s eyes as she cries tears of joy at the reunion. This was incredible

i legit cried and had to read it twice to absorb everything, i love this reveal and i'm really excited to see how they go from here. I had a feeling that Gorou knew Ruby was a young girl, and that (plus her looking like a blonde Ai) made him as protective as he is of her, but he obviously had no clue she was Sarina. And for Ruby's part, I wonder if knowing he's Gorou is going to make her more comfortable with talking to him about deeper things than before? or how she's going to handle the feelings she had for him for so long? Yeah this chapter was genuinely satisfying. I orginally didn't think Aqua could be able to comfort Ruby due how he is right now. However, he proved me wrong. Now as for Marina. Honestly I don't really feel like we need revenge on her at the moment. What she did was bad but now Ruby finally has someone to support her and knows her past. Plus Aqua already working on his big revenge so I doubt he has time to go after her. I will say I would find satisfying if all Aqua or even Ruby dose is scare her by mentioning Sarina in detail and this put Marina on edge to the point she basically ruin thing herself in paranoia driven states. Trying figure out how they found out. I doubt they go that route but like I said that dosen't matter at the moment. Unless she dose something to get in Ruby or Aqua way I doubt much will happen to her.

This is an important chapter because finally the two discover WHO they really are and we will certainly see an improvement with the relationship between the two boys. This series has taught us that sooner or later people who have done bad things are PUNISHED. So I really believe that in the next chapters Marina will truly receive a PUNISHMENT for her past actions and in my opinion (I repeat IN MEIN) it will be Ruby (with the help of Aquamarine) who will reveal her identity to her now old mother and later he will lash out at them for what Marina has DONE IN THE PAST and she may say later that Marina can only have TRUE redemption by FULLY accepting her responsibilities. But the certain thing is that sooner or later Marina will receive a great punishment.

If chapter 2 was written with a plan of Ruby's black eyes becoming a thing in later chapters, she should have 1 white star only again. Her black eyes came after realising what is responsible for Ai's and Gorou's death, but Gorou being the stronger cataclyst of the 2. Another possibility is having 1 star, temporarely changing colors. But compared to Aqua being black from time to time, Ruby changes to white when Aqua's around. Aqua is hard to tell.

I'm 34 years old I struggle with mental illness and specifically schizoaffective disorder and I've only had 3 pieces of media make me cry in my life. The first one was the notebook, the second was the first episode of Oshi No Ko and the third was this chapter. I relate so much to Sairena's struggle but in the mental side as hers was physical but I'm still here trying to figure things out and understand life. But I was so relieved to read this chapter. This was more important to me personally then the truth about Ai coming out but it was a close second

I realised something, it took two losses for both Aqua and Ruby to drive them into darkness. The reason Ruby didn't turn out like Aqua at first was Ai's death was her first loss, by that time it was already Aqua's 2nd. What we know from the "Flash-Forward" extras: 1) Ruby gets the part. And thinks Aqua is her "most important person". The whole page framed to imply the part where she mentions Aqua is for readers' eyes only and that her interview cuts to her simply mentioning she has an "important person whom she trusts with her life." 2) A much older Aqua with a more established reputation as an actor implies that he's determined to remain an eternal bachelor. He says he'll "never love anyone and when someone loves me I'll never/won't be able to reciprocate". Now, it could mean just that. He stays an eternal bachelor. But what if that's because _he can't be seen to love nor can he be seen to return the feelings of the one who loves him?_ He also mentions that he continues to act as a form of revenge. My take on that is that this is a more positive, albeit still twisted way of vengeance. Aqua intends to live a lie and die proudly lying to the world. He wants to prove Ai right to the world: Lies can be a form of love. He'll never marry. Never be seen dating anyone. He'll be the ultimate male superstar: dashing, handsome, and eternally available for his fans. But secretly? He's lying. Lying to protect someone who means the world to him and his little slice of twisted happiness. He doesn't care what the world thinks. He'll live a lie. He'll take his lies and his secrets to his grave and leave the world satisfied. In the flash-forward: Aqua has a piercing on his right ear. And only his right ear. If I'm right? I think the stone on that earing is a ruby. Because I'm now guessing an older Ruby has one of her ears pierced too. Her left one. Only hers will be an aquamarine.

Just as his idol mother intended to hide the truth of her pregnancy and children. Aqua lies to protect the person he does end up with. There's only one person among the cast of heroines that Aqua will never be allowed to love openly: _Ruby._ Which I now believe he will have a more intimate relationship with going forward. Now, back then I simply thought this was an indicator of maturity. Wearing a piercing is seen as something "adults" are allowed to do. The dark-shading of the piercing makes me now believe the stone embedded on it is a ruby. Which now leads me to believe that in the event we see a glimpse of an older Ruby she will be wearing a piercing on her left ear. One with a blue stone. An aquamarine.

and as we can see in chapter 123, it ends with ruby saying that they made a promise, and that she is already past 16 years old. so the meme is becoming real it seems. or she laughs this idea away and have to continue with the idea that it's not possible to marry him. but just glad they meet again. and he said he would support her so she can now focus with a clear mind. i also realy wonder if she is going to continue to clear thinks up with her mother (as Sarrna). chapter 123 that released today was also an interesting one. and really cleared things up with ruby and aqua
