Thank you sir!.. I jumped into a project thats over my head. An old friend of mine sold me his computer right before he died of stage 4 lung that he had over 10k in parts, all unassembled... He sold me everything from the 011xl rog, to the wire sleeve, crimps, tools, aquaero xt, 2-360 rads, 8 corsair rgb fans, water block for cpu and graphics card, commander pro, aquacomp pump/res, flow sensor, filter, over 100 different g1/4 fittings and so on. And on, and on...This thing is going to take months to complete! OMG! so intimidated.. I want to build it right in his honor.

I so sorry to hear about your friend. :( My advice for the build would be to watch a lot of KZbin videos, and once you have a loop planned make a post on the watercooling subreddit (www.reddit.com/r/watercooling/) to get some, hopefully, constructive feedback. In my opinion the hardest part is bending the tubes just right, I haven't mastered that skill yet. (That's part of the reason why I'm using soft tubes). Good luck with the build! :)

All of the fan headers on my X570 Taichi have died, and while I was away at work. Luckily, all of the protection circuits worked as intended, and I have temporally got it running again with the addition of a Molex powered fan hub while I wait for the backordered OCTO fan controller.

This is a great video. Thank you. I'm definitely going to buy the OCTO. Did you do Part 2? Will you be covering the Farbwerk 360 at all? RGB is fun but dealing with it is not. I have moved to the Phanteks D30 fans away from Corsair fans and I've been researching control solutions. I think Aquacomputer both everything: fans, pump, and ARGB (on the blocks, case, and fans) will be the way to go. Thank you and keep up the work. I too love tech and photography.

Thanks for the video! I had one question relating to the temperature sensor plug. I noticed the temperature headers on the quadro hub have numbers above them, perhaps to offer some orientation, while the plug on the temperature sensor cable has an arrow pointing to the end on the two pin female plug. Does it matter which way the two pin connector plug is connected to the quadro hub temperature header? (Arrow on the plug on the side with the numbers or vice versa) Thanks

Great video. One question: may i use this hardware for a PWM fan controller in a server? Setup the temp values in a PC and then move it to the server (without software connection)? or does it need always connection to the software to work correct? Thank you

Thank you for this. I have the octo myself plus the Aquaero 6XT in two different computers. The Octo is my fan controller in one system and my custom water cooled gaming system has the Aquaero for years. I was disappointed that the Octo did not have the Aquabus cable included. I have done w/o it but I will have to wait until someone stateside has it in stock. Shipping cost more than the cable. I am waiting to install my other Aquaero in that system until I get the cable.
@KayBeeTech2 жыл бұрын
I like the Aquaero too - it's much more configurable with how the fans and controllers are separated. But I think the hardware otherwise is starting to feel a bit outdated... I think I have a spare Aquabus cable laying around somewhere, but it still costs about 4 USD to send a letter to the states from here (and I don't know if it would be caught in customs?) :(

Thanks for the video! We need more of these. Luckily I found it in r/watercooling. Amazing how those controllers have evolved. I bought an Aquareo 6LT ages ago and just moved it into new machines with time, then completely missed them changing up the designs and names. I suppose the next one would be the Octo for me when I switch back to water cooling next year again. Thinking of going with a 480 and then adding a MoRa for GPU + CPU, have always wanted one of those. Hell, I'd stack two but don't have the room. 😂 Anyway, the mention of the 3pin fans threw me off. Has this behaviour changed with the Quadro? I used to have a mix of 3 and 4pin fans in an old case, with the 3pin being on their own channel of course, and they handled just the same, mainly set to run at x RPM, and that's what they did.
@KayBeeTech2 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, the new Quadro/Octo controllers don't have voltage regulators, so unfortunately they can't control 3-pin fans which works by changing the voltage to the fan. Ditching the voltage regulators is also part of why they can make the devices so small compared to the Aquaero.

can i connect my octo controller via aquabus to the farbwerk controller ?
@KayBeeTech2 жыл бұрын
No. Only the Aquaero controllers can act as an Aquabus "master" - all other Aquacomputer devices are clients, and cannot communicate without a master device. But if you connect both the Octo and Farbwerk to USB, you should be fine - only drawback is a slightly longer latency and that you have to have the software running...

Should I plug my pump into mobo or quadro?
@KayBeeTech2 жыл бұрын
That depends on your pump - many pumps has two connectors: one for power and one to control the pump speed. Connect the control-connection to the Quadro and the power-connection to your PSU or a high Amp-connection on the mobo

Can 2 octo be connected to a aquaero6 aquabus through splitty9?
@KayBeeTech2 жыл бұрын
Yes. But do you really need 16 extra INDIVIDUALLY controlled fans? Perhaps some PWM splitters could do the job, and you could just use one Octo? When the Splitty9 is in Aquabus-mode it can be used only for Aquabus devices - you'll only need 2 ports for the 2 Octos, so why not just an Aquabus splitter (shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=2847&language=en) or an Aquabux X4 (shop.aquacomputer.de/product_info.php?products_id=3775&language=en)?

Ahh, you are right - you can connect 2 Quadros, but only 1 Octo. The Aquaero can only handle up to 12 (4+8, or 4+4+4) fan channels.

Why do you think AQS is an absolute cancer? It is generally considered to be the best, by far, for cooling component control. There is nothing else that comes close to what AQS can do.

@@BillBittel Not only that, having to pay for updates is incredibly Jewish. Fuck that. Good thing I don't need aquasuite anyways :^) setup the curve in aquasuite and then delete AS since you will never need to use it afterward. HWiNFO works without AS and if you need to setup anything just use the D5N or HFN itself.
