I’m curious if you’ve tried the G1 promo that goes back to your hand after it participates in the 4th wave or later. I’ve found that this card helps maintain a very healthy hand and keep your board clear especially with accel 2 and coral assault. I’ve actually found myself using it over Nikoloz. I’d love to know your thoughts since I plan to play either this or pale moon at regionals.

Personally I chose crits for my build which worked well in my play testing as it helped me push to high damage quicker and force my opponent to guard the glory vanguard swing if they were at less than 5, I also run anakin penguin for the countercharge and synergy with Wheel Assault to make bigger numbers

Will you be covering the Navalgazer variant of Blue Wings just so we could hopefully be consistent with the time you covered both Maelstrom and Navalgazer separately and represent Blue Wings a little bit more on the internet and is just as competent as Maelstrom, especially on a full Blue Wing field after checking a heal.

Similar to mine, only difference is I don't run pgs. The new grade 1s are so good. I completely agree with the grade 2 points, even if I don't get that early damage, lowering thier hand is spicy

Täuschung depending if you go first or second and damage situation. But if you have tempo in your favor and they are at 3or4 damage then you can use Accel 1 to try to finish them off. But if you feel like you can’t then go with Accel 2 bc then you can be aggressive but not to overly aggressive

Personally I hate having to ride Glory as my first ride target because he does nothing. He is effectively vanilla outside of his name for riding another over the top of him. CB1 to force them to guard with 1 card is useless when your biggest swing outside of Riptide or Coral is usually a 19k on accel 1. If they can guard your turn with 1 card a piece anyway, then you just wasted a CB to have them guard the same way they would have guarded you anyway. At least regular Maelstrom applies hand pressure which is better than doing nothing at all for first ride. This is why I play 4 regular Maelstrom. He is the best and only first ride target the deck has. Having Glory makes the on hit pressure so much better cos if they take the hit, they're in kill range on your Glory turn

I've been playing the deck and there is a problem with calm assault. A lot of the time you want to use your soul for tidal which eats through a lot of soul. Calm assault can end up being a drain on resources where you don't ever use him because you used up your soul with tidal or you stop using tidal for calm. I don't run Light Signals either but without good ol' Penguin Soldier, you cannot counter charge so using an algos instead of tidal could stop a glory play. Therefore you want to use Tidal more often as it gives you more attacks, which makes calm assault unusable for high damage. I have 2 calm and 2 theo instead to make a blue storm dragon, maelstrom play viable in those times I don't get a glory. For normal maelstrom, your opponent would usually let the first and second attack through, blocking the third or fourth to stop a maelstrom re-stand. If you have a theo boosting maelstrom as your second attack, using tidal as your first, you can power either your third or fourth attack if they let the second attack through, making the other attacks unarguable without a PG. If they don't because of theo's power giving antics, they will lose a lot of block power to stop the second attacks and the third/fourth attacks as well to prevent a maelstrom re-stand which they may not be able to do anyway. This either forces your opponent to lose a lot of guard power and PGs for Glory's arrival next turn, or they will have enough damage to finish them next turn (thats if they survived the first turn). This is why we cannot just focus on glory for this deck but also add in normal maelstrom support as well as he will be your vanguard at one point too. Just using 4 Calm drains resources and does not support a normal maelstrom vanguard turn, making glory too relied upon as calm only works in a glory turn when everything else gains 10000 already. Therefore I use 2 calm as he is more needed for a glory turn, and 2 theo as he is more needed for a normal maelstrom turn.

Yesss! I have almost exactly the same list! I do play 2 Penguin instead of 2 Calm Assault. Sometimes you still need good old Anakin, whereas I disliked seeing too many Calm Assaults.

Definitely Accel 2. You get the power from maelstrom already and you need the extra draw for defense.
