I really like that it has some presets and simpler options for adjustability. I actually sold my Prime 16 bc as a newbie I felt like there was too much going on and didn’t feel comfortable with what I was doing.

We’re going to set up a freshwater tank for my wife. It’s the new Waterbox Eden 40 with the AI blade freshwater light. I’m really looking forward to trying it. I use mobius to control my Hydra 32s, Neros and Vectra S2. I have had a few return pumps and I like the S2 the best.

March and Tia, I just installed a 12 inch Blade Grow on the Evo (great fit in stock lid!) however I am noticing a variation in color from end to end. Left side of the tank is more blue and right side is more white… it kinda looks similar in you vid. Did you notice this? Anyone else with this light have the same thing going on? Trying to figure out if normal for the light. Thanks and love the channel!

I think these lights might be the best option for the reefcasa tanks. For the studio 12 the 12in option might be THE light to use. I think the Halo is still preferred for the Flat6

I have a 29g tank I'm setting up for SW. I have a Current USA Orbit Marine strip already, but I'm not sure if that is enough for this tank. Debating on adding one of these straps, a second Orbit, or a Fluval Sea strip... what do you think would be best to go along with the Current USA light, or do you think 1 strip os enough for a 29g with zoas, and a few soft corals...gsp, xenia, leathers, etc... I'm fine with not having harder to keep specimens. Thanks so much for your videos! Cheers

Yo yo marchy march! Recently I realised my mushrooms have been cupping and stretching up like how zoas act when wanting more light. My tank is a 25g and using a ai hydra 26hd, around 26-27 watts at peak. Been on this setting for years. Not sure why the mushrooms suddenly want more light. Should i turn the light up higher every few days bit by bit until the mushroom are happy again?

March and Tia, tell me with all sincerity that you like the sliders on the AI lighting app.. the app itself is fine. I have five AI primes, and other than giving me a hard time getting on to the light settings every once in a while, I’d say the app is fine. But the slide bars for lighting % sucks. If they had the sliders along with up and down arrows to dial it in, that would be wonderful. But it should not be that hard to dial in the lighting %. Am I alone in this ?? BTW. Your channel is my top three (and probably #1) favorite channel on KZbin. No 💩, I got back into the hobby about two years ago and I believe it’s around the same time you starting blowing up. The proof is in the pudding, your channel #1. 😂 Keep it up.

I really like these lights. I want them for my next tank. The low profile is super sleek and the PAR is respectable. The only thing to be determined is the ease of maintenance with multiple of these low lights mounted on your tank as they would be in your way. As a supplemental light mounted higher though, no issues. You should add these to your acro tank instead of the T5s you mentioned. Heck, might as well email them, I’m sure they would send you some for free like they did all the other KZbin Reefing Stars.

So I was just thinking and could they have in the app where you put dimensions in of your tank and it would read the watts it’s putting out at that current moment and give you a rough lay out on your phone of the par it’s giving in different areas or something they could just use it with your basics big name salt water tanks like redsea or waterbox or something like that dose that sound silly 🤔 I think it be cool they could like test it on different tanks and put the readings into the app 😮

I had the AI Hydra 52s back in 2012-2013 when they came out. They were very white, just like these. I do like the fact that you could basically put these on at 80% to 90% and be about perfect on PAR. Not very impressed with these, they look cheap and I don't like Mobius either. I have the Ecotech Vectra S2 and 4 MP40s on my Red Sea Reefer XL 300 G2 and it has its moments for sure. A company that makes that kind of money, should have much better software.

People are running these stand alone over their reefs. The glow is like the old school true actinic t8 bulbs. These would be great for a LPS tank or an anemone tank. The cost of these is what really sets them apart.

I felt like the AI app was awful when I first got it. Not very intuitive or easy. Didn’t find any presets, ended up having to watch BRS videos and adapt one of their configs and only recently realized you can move an existing time point on your schedule. I got back into the hobby about a year ago, prior to that it had been about 10 years since I last had a saltwater tank. One of my first findings was “Wow! The lights have gotten very fancy and small!” and was shortly followed with “wow they really overcomplicated the shit out of this, didn’t they?” 😂😂 Just let me enter a few parameters like light height and coral types and give me a preset!!! Overtinkering can lead to poor initial set-ups or too many ongoing changes that result in coral death.

My Mobius app does not hold the time properly, everyday I have to go into the settings, then time settings, then click sync current date and time. Within a few hours its off again (always runs fast between 30 minutes and an hour per day). I've tried to contact ecotech multiple times with no success. The only thing I could find was instructions to check for "clock errors" which I have 0. Has anybody else had this issue and know how to fix it, I was interested in one of these lights but luckily I watched this video because I will not be buying any products that are controlled with the Mobius app until I can get this fixed I don't want my lights turning on and off at random times 😅 my two mp10s already have a mind of their own 🤦😭
